  1. Review titled Appalling Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 January 2025

I’ve been under the care of Cygnet House since my late teens. This latest mess has finally snapped my mind. I was told I could no longer get my prescription directly from them, had to go through GP instead. However, due to it taking 9 Months for Cygnet House to type and send an appointment summary letter to my GP, it caused issues that I had to deal with myself. Running between Cygnet and my GP surgery for about a week. Because of the letter, the prescription i was given by the GP was incorrect, out of date by 9 months, the wrong doses. The most recent letter was from October, that was the correct letter. Taking 9 months to send a massively out of date summary with the incorrect medications meant the GP believed that the out of date letter was the most recent (this isn’t the GP’s fault by any means), and Cygnet could not give me a reason why it took them so long to write a letter that should have been done months before, and thereby messing up the chronology of information the GP had. Shocking mess up, and once again I was left to try and fix their mistakes. And that’s not including the agonising wait I’ve had for a support worker which I am now losing hope of ever happening. I am afraid for myself. And I will never trust these liars again.

  2. Review titled Horrifyingly terrible service

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 December 2024

After being with Cygnet house for 2 weeks every appointment has been cancelled after me arriving causing me to pay for a 2 hour parking ticket just to be told the ‘therapist’ is off sick or is at an emergency. This should not be allowed and I cannot emphasise enough how detrimental this incompetence is to my mental health. Refrain from using this ‘service’ at all costs, it’s a pathetic joke.

  3. Review titled Dangerous - Should be investigated

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 September 2024

I have been under the care of Cygnet house for 6 months now and I dread continuing but have no choice. My entire experience has been miserable and made my mental health issues worse. I had been referred back to them for extra help due to deterioration in my mental health condition requiring further assistance and a medication review. The entire process has been a nightmare and honestly now am not only mentally unwell but had to battle being physically unwell as a result. I have had appointments cancelled and prescriptions lost, been forgotten about multiple times (this admitted to me) and lied to constantly either on purpose or through sheer incompetence. They have failed to update my records with my GP surgery for 3 months so even they cannot help now and my medication is a mess. If you are referred to Cygnet House, I hope you have a wonderful support system as you will need it. Never have I had such little hope for getting well.

  4. Review titled Dangerous Service

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 August 2024

I have been under this service for many years now. The lack of care is shocking, a mockery of everyone who seeks their help. Unstable staffing means you rarely see the same person for a consistent amount of time. My most recent appointment I was told I’d be considered for discharge by a psychiatrist who has only seen me on one occasion before this. The appointment wasn’t a proper appointment. Prescribed my meds without asking if I’m getting on well with them. The lack of knowledge of autism and mental illness is deplorable. And now I am fearing discharge when it is the most unsafe and reckless decision that could be made. It doesn’t matter what you say, you’ll be ignored.

  6. Review titled Needs to be closed down

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 August 2024

Having been rereferred here again by my gp. I think this service seriously needs to be closed down. It’s dangerous. On Both occasions that I have tried to access this service my Mh has been made worse. On both times the initial assessment was completed the letter sent to my drs that I received a copy of contained so many lies and was full of very inaccurate information as to what i told them. And some of it was quite dangerous in what they had stated compared to the truth. Ie. when i had told them about My conditions in my family history they stated a totally different family member in the letter. The most recent time I was shocked that on arrival of my appointment the room I was led into was not fit to be classed as fit for purpose especially in a medical capacity. It was a total mess. Loads of Messy Stacks of chairs piled up at one end, computer not even turned on, loads of papers strewn around the room. Not to mention that in the waiting room they had a timetable of upcoming groups etc they offered and they were at least 12 months out of date. Since my initial assessment I have been made a further appointment with who I am told is one of their psychiatrists but i now have a long wait until then. No support being offered to me of any type in the meantime. Unfortunately I was told by my drs this service is the one that all Hertfordshire Mh patients are being referred to. So I have no choice but go via them. I feel totally stuck
