Review titled The therapist I never knew I needed
by The Offload - Posted on 09 June 2023
They say sometimes you have to try multiple therapists to get the one who fits best for you & I found her through this service! Even though I'm gutted I was only with her for 16 weeks - it was the most rewarding experience. I felt listened to, I felt understood but I also wasn't told what I wanted to hear and that's important. I Initially started my treatment for anxiety/low moods, but during this process my Grandmother passed away & the therapist I was matched with was exactly what I needed. I will miss speaking with her every Thursday, but I 1000% recommend this service. If you pour yourself into the experience, then growth will follow!

Review titled Complex Trauma Therapy
by meloncw44 - Posted on 12 June 2023
I was offered 16 sessions of EMDR, which I found very helpful to start. However, I have complex trauma and a decision was made to discharge me as my case was severe. This meant I was left without the continued trauma support I need to live and there is no option available for long term support. This is a failure of the system.

Review titled Helped me a great deal
by soodi786 - Posted on 04 April 2023
I referred myself through the NHS website and was eventually referred to DIT with Ealing IAPT. My therapist helped me a great deal and I am mentally in a much better place than I was when I started the therapy. My therapist was patient and I was able to communicate with her with ease. The sessions have really helped me turn my life around, there a long way to go still but I will be forever grateful for the help I received via Ealing IAPT and in particular my therapist.

Review titled DIT therapy within Ealing IAPT
by Canadian brit - Posted on 03 March 2023
I have had 16 sessions of DIT therapy, after struggling for some time with stress, burn out and feeling overwhelmed and depressed. I had been having many issues within personal relationships. I had had a few blocks of long term psychodynamic therapy/ counseling previously, however DIT has been the most helpful I have ever had. I am very familiar with CBT as well, and didn't feel that CBT would help me with my current difficulties. My therapist was supportive and also challenging and was very skilled at helping me to identify patterns that were recurring across several of my relationships, and how these patterns were affecting me and how they were making me feel

Review titled Receiving counselling from IAPT
by airxf95 - Posted on 20 October 2022
I work in the NHS and have always helped others and never really thought about my mental health needs until my manager suggested that I self-refer to IAPT as i was having a lot of personal issues that were impacting on my well being. When I first started counselling I was very guarded and found it very difficult and uncomfortable speaking about things that I had buried for years. I used to dread our sessions but a bit like things you don't want to do, I always felt better afterwards which motivated me to go to the next session. I have now completed 20 sessions and I wanted to share what a positive life changing experience it has been. I honestly do not know where I would be without this input. It gave me an deep understanding of my needs and also helped me to be kinder to myself, get in touch with my emotions, adopt healthy coping strategies, and how to recognise warning signs before things reached crisis point. My therapist was compassionate, supportive, and most importantly non judgmental and kind. She really had the skills to empower me to make positive changes. I will carry on my journey with therapy but feel very happy that I am on the right path for me. As a general health clinician this experience has also had a positive impact on my work place practice with patients who may be experiencing mental health issues

Dear Feedback user, Thank you very much for your feedback and kind words. As an NHS worker, naturally, you are often putting others first and it’s really fantastic to read that you reached out for support for you. Counselling can often be very challenging and uncomfortable, however, the fact that you persevered and stuck to it shows how resilient you have been. We are so pleased to read that your experience was a positive one and it sounds like counselling helped you significantly. Well done for taking the plunge! We hope that you continue to use the tools and strategies you have learned moving forwards. It is also lovely to read that you had a good relationship with your therapist and that this experience has had a positive impact on other things as well as your mental well-being. We wish you all the very best moving forward. Ealing IAPT
