On Saturday 27th July 2024 early afternoon i felt unwell which was unusual for me. I had pains in my upper chest and could not settle. My wife called 999 and shortly after that a paramedic arrived to assess my condition. I was going through the process of having a heart attack whilst at home. The paramedic treated me until an ambulance crew arrived to take over. They quickly established and confirmed the diagnosis and arrangements were then made to transport me to Cardiology department of Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals. We travelled on the blues to Basildon hospital where I was immediately taken to the Cardiology department and operated on. At all times the crew were professional, understanding, caring and considerate and fully appreciative of the pain and anxiety that I was going through. They were honest, funny and totally supportive Throughout the time spent with me and looking after me they fully supported my wife who understandably was shocked and anxious. After the operation I was taken to the Rodin ward where I stayed until I was released. At all times throughout this experience I was well looked after by the nursing and other staff and I cannot thank them enough. The consultant who did the operation came and saw me later that evening and the following morning and I had an update with a consultant every morning until my discharge. Upon discharge I was advised on what will happen now and everything was explained to me. I have always had the greatest respect for the medical profession but until you personally go through something like this you do not understand how professional, dedicated and caring they all are. Thank you thank you I will forever be in your debt

We had to call the paramedics out 2 times at the airport due to one of us being unwell and on both occasions they were excellent and through with their care
