  1. Review titled What Health Centre?

Rated 1 star out of 5

Called for an appointment this morning as soon as the clock turned to 0800. The message told me I was number 3 in the queue. After 10 further minutes of being 3rd in the queue I took the option of pressing 1 for a call back, the message reassuring me I would retain my place in the queue. It’s now 0828 and there has been no call back. I tried phoning back and all the other options told me I was number 27 in the queue! I’m clearly not having an appointment today or any call back.

  2. Review titled Unfriendly receptionist

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Whilst waiting for an appointment I saw an elderly lady with a walking stick come in. She told the receptionist that she had just been to Boots the chemist and they could not prescribe her eyedrops as they don’t stock them anymore and would need an alternative. They told her to go to the doctor to get the alternative prescription. The receptionist asked what do they want to change it to? The lady I have no idea. The reception said well you need to ask them, which chemist was it. She said Boots The receptionist then said I can’t call them as they never answer. You need to go back to the chemist find out what they recommend and come back and tell us so we can ask the doctor. The lady said “oh I can’t make it up there until Saturday so I’ll have to then walk back down here on Monday” . I found this unacceptable treatment of an elderly patient and I have no idea why the receptionist thought the doctor himself could not change the prescription. After all it was the doctor who prescribed it in the first place. This just caused unnecessary strain on the poor lady. As I am not allowed to mention names I can tell you this happened around 13:45 yesterday 3rd October.

  3. Review titled Appalling practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

After 6 text messages, 2 emails and missed phone calls to remind me of my appointment, please call if you need to cancel. I turned up a few minutes late for my appointment as there was no parking, and my husband needed to get my wheelchair out of the car. I went to reception and informed them of my appointment which was met with attitude. After waiting 35 minutes I went to another reception desk where I was told my name had been called but she would ask someone to come and speak with me. The nurse who came out was very unpleasant and had an appalling attitude. Because apparently it was my fault that I am in a wheelchair, and couldn’t find anywhere to park, and was a few minutes late. Once you are called that’s your lot. And it is up to the ENT Dr whether he will see you or not. After waiting 1hr and 10 minutes, and in that time he only saw 2 patients, 15 min appointments, he decided he did not have the time to see me. So once again the nurse took it upon herself to face me with a barrage of attitude. And had the cheek to say that I was being loud! This really is the most unprofessional, uncaring and rude people I have come across in a while, who work in a caring position. Perhaps they need to ask themselves why they really do work in healthcare? Because they really do not care. I found the whole experience absolutely disgusting. I will not be returning to this practice ever again for any appointments.

  4. Review titled Bad Experience

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 April 2024

I arrived at the centre in time and queue up at the reception on the ground floor for few minutes to be told that actually for eyes care the right please was on the first floor. On the first floor the lady asked me to seat explaining there was no need to leave the name. Although I was the only one waiting for eye care, I waited for 20 minutes until the specialist invited me in. She said that I was 20 minutes late, hence I said that actually I was in time just lost few minutes downstairs but she insisted that I was late. She started the routing questions but the way she was talking to me was not friendly and was making feel uncomfortable, hence I said that I was sorry but I did not liked her attitude and wanted to leave and so I did it. I am sorry to have taken time off from work without having the visit completed but I believe patients deserve to be treated better. Also, please consider to improve dept. indications on the facility and implement a check in system.

  5. Review titled Receptionists

Rated 1 star out of 5

The doctors here are lovely, but the receptionists are so rude, I feel very anxious each time I need to call. The last time I called to try and get an apt regarding my pregnancy, the receptionist said ‘this isn’t a life or death situation’ which made me feel awful.

  6. Review titled No contact since

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I came to this practice for a hearing test and to see why I have fluid in my right ear that is causing me to constantly sniff to correct my hearing. The doctor did contact me the next day saying I had hearing loss in both ears and some fluid in one. I was told I would be contacted for an appointment to have a camera up my nostril to investigate the fluid on my ear...it has been short of a year and I have not been contacted or recieved an appointment letter. I have tried to call the practice on numerous occasions with no answer.

I have been sent an ENT appointment for December 7th 2022. I would like to cancel this appointment but the only contact option is a phone number. Can you tell me how deaf patients can contact you? Perhaps provide a text number or email address? Thank you
