  1. Review titled Terrific service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Alan Kummer - Posted on 24 November 2024

I arrived at Edgware walk-in centre a few minutes before 8.00am in the hope that I would not have to wait too long and my timing was fully justified as I left a little after 8.45am. In order: The guy at reception was very efficient in taking down all my details before asking me to take a seat and wait. Shortly after I was called by the triage nurse who was very friendly yet professional, she took down further details before asking me to go back to the waiting area. Not long after, I was called in to be examined and was told that I had strained my deltoid muscle and given some anti-inflammatory tablets to help ease the pain; again, the lady who examined me was very friendly yet totally professional. All in all, I could not have asked for a better service, my compliments to all the staff at the Edgware Walk-in clinic.

Very happy with the nursing care I received this morning. Thorough, informative and professional. My wound dressing was changed meaning I could avoid a visit to A+E and I was also checked over with regards to a virus. Many thanks

In, pain, I could get no help with that, nor could I get a record of my consultation wanted by my GP so that I was not needlessly in pain.

  5. Review titled Good medical care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended because I was worried about an injury to my foot; it is painful to walk normally. The nurse practitioner carried out a thorough rapid physical examination of the offending foot and was able to diagnose that no fracture was present. I was dealt with very professionally and left the clinic reassured.

  8. Review titled Sadly a poor experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

I was directed to attend the walk in by my GP surgery. I was greeted by a pleasant smiling receptionist. He got me booked in and I settled in for the wait. The triage nurse called me after about 15 minutes. This nurse, was so terribly abrasive. Her attitude was awful, I was berated because my GP had not provided an x ray form. She couldn't even be bothered to make eye contact. She the. Tells me that I may not be able to get an xray because of certain guidelines they have to follow. Anyway, suitably chastised I slink back to the waiting room and am called two hours later. The nurse who called me is a ray of sunshine, so kind, funny and just nice. She sadly informs me because my injury is more than two weeks old I wont be able to be xrayed. Fine, no problem. I dont mind when I am told nicely. But surely the first lady could have saved me two hours of bum numbing sitting by telling me that at the start. Unfortunately this lady as the triage nurse, is the first person everyone sees. I dont know why she has such a caustic attitude but it really is not a welcoming attitude to patients who are not really wanting to be there in the first place. She really needs to do better as all the other staff managed to be pleasant and kind.

  10. Review titled Exceptional Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended because I had what turned out to be a chest infection. Within 3 minutes, I was seen by a nurse to collect my basic details. A few minutes later, I was called in by a senior nurse (unfortunately cannot name them because of site rules) who discussed my symptoms, diagnosed my problem and issued a prescription for meds to sort me out. In summary, an exceptional service by highly professional and dedicated staff.
