    I had an MRI at Heath Lodge in 2018 and another MRI and X-ray in 2024. On both occasions, the staff were great. I was dealt with quickly and professionally and given much valued reassurance about my condition. I have no hesitation in recommending Heath Lodge. Also, easy to find and park!

    I was booked in for an m.r.i. scan on my lower back by my Physio. I'm fortunate enough to be able to pay for it and my physio work myself. From getting the e-mail with all the information I needed for the scan I attended. From checking in, to leaving with a personalised cd with my scan reults on it the hole experience was excellent. Although I've never had an m.r.i. before I wasn;t nervous but the radiographer made sure I was fully underanding of what to expect and madfe sure I was rerady before going into the scanner. Everything was explained clearly and a few of my questions were answered clearly so I knew what to expect. Scan went exactly as he detailed it would do and after a few minutes he handed me my cd with the pictures on and told me the scan would be analysed by a specialist and a report sent to my physio in a few days. I left the clinic extremely happy with everything from the initial email and call to book me in from leaving with a cd in my hand. Brilliant clinic alround.

    I was advised to use the practice by my private consultant for a self paying MRI scan. The process from referral to scan was faultless. The communication was swift, an appt was offered within 24 hours of referral allowing for swift follow up with the team. The practice is welcoming, roomy, refreshments are available whilst you wait. The receptionist & scanning team were incredibly polite & made the anxiety of the scan a lot less by explaining every step of the way. I appreciate every member of staff who was involved in my care. Thank you.

    At 84 I was very nervous but everyone was so caring,I wasn't nervous at all, the clinic was very clean, I was called in before my appointment time and was told everything about the X-ray before it was taken,the man taking the X-Ray couldn't have been caring. Would highly recommend this clinic to anyone

    I have now had 3 scans at Heath Lodge. The centre is immaculate, staff are friendly and kind and there is a very caring but professional and purposeful atmosphere. The scanner itself is large and very airy which makes it more pleasant. The cost is more affordable other hospitals near me. Lovely drinks available as you wait.

    I agreed a date for an MRI within a couple of days. The staff were very pleasant and professional throughout every aspect of my visit. The results were received within 10 days.

    I suffer with very bad claustrophobia. I was terrified of having a scan. However I was able to use what they call a "doughnut" and the wonderful radiographer spent time with me before, during and after. I wouldn't say I enjoyed the experience, but nevertheless I managed it! A triumph in my eyes. At no time was I made feel feel "silly" or emotional. I cried before with fear and after with great relief. The radiographer was so very kind and thoughtful and made such a difference to me not having a scan, to be able to go through with it. Thank you to the team at Heath Lodge.

    I could not have been better looked after. Very welcoming and attentive staff. Extremely evident in getting me booked in, procedure completed and confirmed I was well enough to leave afterwards.

    I am an autistic adult and having tried another (old) MRI scanner, couldn't proceed with it due to claustrophobia and panic. The scanner at Heath Lodge is a wide-bore scanner and also very short (just over 4ft long - so looks more like a doughnut than a tunnel!). The staff take the time to explain every part of the process to you and to ensure everyone is familiar with what the issues are and what the scan is for. They give you a buzzer to hold that you can press at any point during the scan for assistance, and they can talk to you through the headphones they give you to wear. I specifically asked to be given timing updates (e.g. I was told the first part was 2 minutes long, so I kept still and counted the seconds in my head: 1000, 2000, 3000..., then the next part was 3 minutes long etc), which stopped me ruminating and was slightly meditative. I was also surprised at how quickly it went, as when I pre-rang to ask (a lot) of questions I was told it would be approx. 50 minutes, and it was only 15 minutes! - for two areas: lumbar and sacroiliac areas. For this area I was also able to go feet-first, so my head outside of the scanner itself. They do move you a few inches on occasion during the scan to better line you up, which I wasn't pre-warned about, but it was fine. Didn't feel clinical and threatening at all; very homely place and staff were friendly and sympathetic. My mum was able to come into the scanning room with me. I was so relaxed that I even started to find the MRI scanner's noises mildly amusing, as I don't think a single one sounded the same - so I occupied myself with waiting to hear the next round of scanning to see what noises were coming next. The noises, although loud, weren't scary; more like standing next to a building site using a pneumatic drill (but you have earplugs and headphones on). There was even a funny moment when the radiologist asked me through the headphones if I was ok, but I didn't respond (I wasn't sure if they wanted a thumbs-up, or could hear me if I spoke) - so the assistant came out to physically speak to me and I told her I'd been advised not to move, so she relayed back that I was just doing what I'd been told, and we all laughed. I will never fear having another MRI scan if needed, if it's at Heath Lodge.
