    Shockingly bad treatment at this surgery. Zero communication, the wrong tests carried out and then rudeness from the nurse/receptionist when she realised she was wrong.

    I am due to have a back operation in a couple of weeks for a back problem. The help and support I have received from the doctor in controlling my pain has been first class. Following a couple of face to face visits, the doctor has called me once a week to check on how I am and my pain levels. I have very much appreciated all his caring attitude and advice. My grateful thanks. Also the help of the reception team despite being under pressure is much appreciated.

    This review covers my current dealings with this surgery but I have been a patient with them for over 20 years and during that time I have seen how they have changed and developed, including dealing with the challenges arising from Covid-19. Over recent years I have suffered from chronic illness, so have gone from being a relatively healthy patient needing only occasional visits to someone who has to see them far more frequently, often several times in a month, as they support me with the different problems caused by my condition. Whether it’s the admin and support staff, nurses, or doctors, they are courteous and helpful, even when they have clearly been under serious pressure. Yes, I have had to contend with the 8 o’clock dialathon but I have been able to get an appropriate appointment, whether that is a callback from a doctor, a discussion with the nurse or a physical appointment. And, just as importantly, on the rare occasion where there’s been a glitch, they’ve responded appropriately and sorted things out. I’m very happy with the care that I receive from the whole team at Highwoods Surgery; they work hard and do their best.
