  1. Review titled Great help received

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Magdalena Wywijas - Posted on 25 October 2023

I want to say a big thank you to this practice and a person treating me during my last infection. My health was quickly declining after falling ill with a chest infection and laryngitis. I got help on the same day I called. The staff was knowledgeable and very friendly putting me at ease. I am so grateful we have this NHS service.

  2. Review titled Rude receptionists and difficulty getting a reply

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 August 2023

I work for the NHS and appreciate that we're all really busy and work exceptionally hard, but the receptionists at this practice are a complete nightmare. I have spent days trying to get a reply for a follow up appointment with my doctor. (and I had to physically go to the practice to get an acknowledgement the first time, where the receptionist was more interested in eating her banana and talking to her colleagues than doing her job) When the phone was picked up, the receptionist was obnoxiously rude to me, insisted there were no available appointments and demanded that I called back at 08.00 the next morning before slamming the phone down. I have spent the last few days calling at 08.00, and several times over the course of half an hour or so (bearing in mind I also start work at this time) all I got was a recorded message saying "the surgery is now closed, please call again later" This isn't really good enough. If we can't even get through to the surgery, how are we meant to see a doctor?

  3. Review titled Great practice and Patches

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Helen Baly - Posted on 25 August 2023

DElighted to be a patient at this surgery. Everyone is helpful, polite and supportive. I love using the Patches system. It is easy to use and a great way to communicate with the surgery. I get an immediate response from the surgery. It prevents taking up a place on the phones. If the response says a doctor will call back, they do and sometimes have arranged a face to face appointment on the day. Great system, great surgery, thank you.

  4. Review titled Dedicated staff!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Cherie Barnard - Posted on 26 July 2023

Recently my husband needed a doctor’s appointment as soon as possible & we were very surprised & pleased he could be seen quite quickly. It was after 6pm, the receptionist had been working all day & doctors were coming into the practice from their day working elsewhere! The NHS gets a bad press at times but this dedication needs to be noted & praised; wonderful service with staff going above & beyond! They so need an increase of pay!

  6. Review titled Offensive Survey Question

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 March 2023

Recently I was sent a text to participate in a survey for this clinic. I decided to participate and one of the questions had the phrase 'people with a cervix'. Only women can have a cervix and it is incredibly offensive to women to be labeled in that way. It is also completely unscientific. I'm losing my faith in this clinic if they can't even understand basic biology.

  7. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 March 2023

I can always speak to someone quickly either by holding or on the ring back system. The reception staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The evening surgery has been great for me a couple of times so I don’t have to rush about in the day

  8. Review titled Reception Staff First Port Of Call

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 February 2023

Where does one start. Drs when you can see one are ok,reception exception of a couple, are very rude when they see you, only one on the desk with a big queue, shouting date of birth as loud as they can,not everyone wants to give their age away. Talking to other members of staff, you feel a nuicense, they think they are the doctors. Not the first person to say this, having a consultation finally face to face, and then reception staff appearing In the room and standing there whilst having a consultation, isn't that meant to be confidential? You go to the drs for help, and not being judged my reception staff!! Sorry to say all this its affected my family and other people we know. Used to be a lovely practice when the previous drs were there, the husband and wife. Drs behind closed doors mayb the reception staff should be watching this. Sick of covid allways being used.

  9. Review titled Cannot make contact to get an appointment !

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 February 2023

Myself and family have been registered here for a decade, never been easy to contact them to make appointment, now it's impossible. Their "shiny" new website promises the world, but.... claims they open at 8am, yet they never answer phones from that time or later. In fact the recorded message takes ages wasting one's time before saying they're "closed" - but doesn't state when, or if, they might be open.. It suggests use "website messaging service" - guess they might? mean the Patient Access system, which a few years ago was great for making appointments. But after trawling thro the login process now get a message saying cannot do so, why not have this message on the initial homepage !?. Then try "Patches" - however that system insists each and every patient has a unique email address, not likely or practical within one household - so I cannot set-up a Patches account - not that the Surgery homepage gives any clues as to how to do so, it just assumes we have one already. So then try the "Nhs App" route - which I eventually find I cannot use as I don't have a mobile phone number. To conclude - if even computer-savvy folk like me struggle to contact the surgery for even routine stuff, and so no! chance getting an emergency appointment, so what chance do the elderly or unwell folk have. This current situation is appalling, the doctors in the practice are generally good, but only if we can access them - and for many years they've been let-down by poor backup from most, but not all, of their reception staff, perhaps as the Practice Manager I met was utterly ignorant of basic Nhs policy (she told me to go to A&E with a longstanding sinus problem..) so she gave me zero faith as a "manager". Worst of all, it's clear from these reviews the surgery never replies, and possibly doesn't even read them.... And on the subject of reviews, the practice website has two different routes to leave a review, they only want "good" reviews on this NHS page, for "bad" reviews they ask you to contact the surgery direct, rather than publish them..... but if I could have contacted them, I wouldn't be here now writing this... You really could not make it up, all very sad and downright depressing.
