My consultant told me to ask my doctor for stronger painkillers than just paracetamol whilst waiting for a hip replacement. Tried visiting the surgery but told no appointments were available. Rang next day and kept waiting for 20 minutes only to be told once again there were no appointments available and to ring later. This happens every time. The receptionists are unhelpful and almost rude. This situation is quite unacceptable.

I filled in the online form requesting an appointment on 21 June . I had an email reply on 23 June advising me to request the next routine appointment . I did this immediately but was told to try again on Monday (26 th).I made 7 calls on Monday , waited in queues , or line was busy still no appointment ! I rang again at 9am this morning (27th) , waited in another queue , still no appointments ! I was told to try again later . I know I will have to wait in another queue and I simply cannot spend my life hanging onto a phone . I am 80 years old and this is not how I want to spend my remaining years .I was a patient at this practice at my birth and I cannot recall such terrible service in my lifetime.

How many times do I have to ring, wait in line, eventually get through only to be told there are no appointments available? Still not got one
