  1. Review titled speedy care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended Huyton Walk in service after my leg was so painful, it was swollen and I was really worried. I was seen by a lovely young gentleman nurse, i take blood thinning medicine and apparently this means they cannot take blood in the centre. So he referred me to the hospital, he was so thoughtful kind and reassuring- I was so worried. He took his time to explain things to me and really went into detail explaining about clots and how something called the dinor d Works to see if there’s a clot. Low and behold I was expected on the ward and had a clot Without his passion, things could have been a lot worse People are very quick to criticise but in eternally grateful. The triage lady was also very nice, the receptionists too

  2. Review titled Appalling Service

Arrived at 1930 with my 8yr old son who had an open wound. Called to triage around 2010 to then be told that they're only giving advice as they close at 8pm and they've still got 10 people to see. We were then told to take him home and bath him. We asked the nurse could they clean it to check how deep the wound was. She glanced and said it looks superficial so no.

  3. Review titled Amazing and lovely staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended the centre after days of feeling really unwell, I was coughing really badly and just knew something wasn’t right I waited for a few hours to be seen which is understandable, it’s such a busy service and so many people wanting to get checked. I was seen by a lovely young man, he was so thoughtful and caring. I was quite anxious at the time and worried about other things, he calmed me down and really explained everything to me. He was so lovely and brilliant and caring attitude! He will go very far He gave me some antibiotics and they helped me really well. I would definitely reccommend this service!

  4. Review titled Great Practice

We attended the centre on a very busy Saturday afternoon. The service we received was outstanding. Our boy has complex health needs and the nurses treated him with care and compassion taking time to explain things to him even though they were very busy! Thank you for your time, understanding & kindness to the lovely nurses.

  5. Review titled Neglectful Treatment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Beth - Posted on 18 February 2024

After waiting hours to be assessed, I was told my baby needed antibiotics. However, no one was there to prescribe. I rang 12 hours later (when a prescriber was on site) to be told I would need to bring in baby again, wait 3 hours, be reassessed before being prescribed anything. Symptoms are exactly the same. He still requires antibiotics, but is expected to be sat with sick people again and go through the upset of a reassessment before he is treated. Disgusting. Something needs to change. I now have a baby in pain, having to wait unnecessary lengths of time to receive the treatment he needs. Neglectful!

  6. Review titled Disgusted

Rated 1 star out of 5

Arrived early 9.30am. My 14 year old son has autism and adhd. On arrival the wait was 2-3 hours. Seen by triage and went back into waiting area. People was coming and going before us. I overheard a member of staff telling another member of staff that they was short staffed as people was sent to other clinics. My son started getting restless and agitated as 4 hours had now passed. I enquired about when he was likely to be seen and told there was 3 people still ahead of us. All the time my child was getting more and more upset. I enquired again and the receptionist did not seem to care. I knocked on the triage door to ask for help and was about to ask if she could put us in another waiting area that was quieter. She told me if you can't wait then come back later or tomorrow. I said we have waited 4 hours and she said I'm not dealing with this right now and shut the door on my face. Eventually we was seen after my child ran out of the building. A referral to ent was made but refused to give any medication or drops/sprays and told to buy it from the pharmacy which I had already tried and used for ten days. The nurse who slammed the door and said I'm not dealing with this right now needs to learn some manners and show more care and support to children with special needs and their parents. Its a stressful experience as it is for us and the child involved. The receptionists sat eating takeaway pizzas at the desks and talking about staff. Disgusted.

  7. Review titled Phlebotomy

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Very disheartening to be turned away from having a blood test due to no blood form. Systems need updating as to ascertain “form” electronically. Most NHS systems have this facility so maybe senior management can look into this going forward with their technology so others are not turned away in the future after already waiting over 2 weeks for the appointment.

  8. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by J.C - Posted on 19 June 2023

I attended after GP advised me I may have a blood clot, very concerned & attended as advised for d dimer bloods, was triaged quickly the 2 triage nurses settled my worries, waited maybe 10 mins went through to a Nurse & phlebotomist, the bloods were taken & seeing as the phlebotomist was training the nurse beside her must surely be the best teacher as I have bloods taken regularly as diabetic & always have massive bruising just one of them things but have to say afterwards I couldn't even see where the bloods were taken & 2 days after only have a minimal bruise "excellent" & the Nurse was outstanding, done exactly what she said she was going to do & rang me with blood results. I'm very grateful for the care I received at Huyton Walk in centre thank those nurses please, honestly superb

  9. Review titled So efficient

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Less than 2 hours from going in to collecting prescription from nearby Asda. The nurse in triage and the practitioner nurse Colette were very empathetic. I felt so unwell and 5 hours later already feel on the mend. Brilliant service. Thank you.

  10. Review titled Great nurse

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I visited with my autistic daughter who struggles with being examined. The nurse who we saw was lovely. She was caring and understanding and had such a good bedside manner. She went above and beyond to accommodate my daughters needs.
