My GP made a referral to podiatry for me in May. He specifically told them that due to my vommunication difficulties and access needs that appointments etc need to be communicated with me by email or initially text, however no telephone calls. I can communicate fully by email, this is a godsend as I do not get any help and support from anywhere. I feceived an appointment for June at Podiarty by text - all good. But then it stated I needed to confirm by telephone. Not good. I tried Googling for an email address, nothing came up. Since then I have received further texts requesting that I telephone to confirm the appointment. I can attend tbe appointment but they have been told my needs and yet they are not helping me. Tbe last trxt was threatening to cancel the appointment if I do not yelephone within 24 hours. Not helpful. While the other services I use within the NHS communicate with me by email, this one clearly has no intention of doing so. I would call that ableism. And it looks lime my appojntment's cancelled because I cannot usr and communicate by telephone. Shame on you Kempston Clinic.
