Review titled Reception St Chads Walk In Kirkby.
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Chris Kelsall - Posted on 28 November 2024
Went in today 28/11/24 after a GP referral for an X-ray. Told to ring in later as the machine was broken. Rang many times in the afternoon (from a number I was given by the receptionist on duty (10.15am)….no answer. Finally went into the main area near reception and rang the same number! It rang!! Asked the X-ray receptionist why it wasn’t being answered and she said she hadn’t heard it before ?? 1. Why doesn’t the call move onto a manned desk, rather than continually ring out? 2. Why did the X-ray receptionist find it impossible to answer a phone 4 metres from her seat? 3. When you are called for your appointment, the caller does not come out to the main seating area, instead a name is called within the door recess…..it’s hard to hear and I had to sit near the door to hear my name. The caller should come right out to the seating area to call a name. 4. Had my X-ray very quickly and was seen within 15 minutes, so this bit of the process was good. All the rest was very poor. Willing to discuss with anybody interested 07716455472

Review titled Kirkby walk in centre Absolute joke of a place
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Sarah - Posted on 05 March 2024
Took my son in who was really poorly, couldn't eat, drink, swallow or even speak with the pain he had in his throat. Told the nurse in triage it was high chance of epiglottitis as I looked at the back of his mouth/throat. She checked herself and seen what I was on about. She then began to tell me he can drink he just chooses not to, and he can speak he just chooses not to. She forced him to drink a sip of juice when I had already told her it was painful for him to swallow then gets another nurse higher up to come check (so obviously she seen what I seen) that nurse then goes on to tell me there was nothing wrong with him and how do we know that extra tongue at the back of his throat isn't always there as he doesn't walk around with his tongue sticking out all day!!! They tried to palm us off with ibuprofen and told us he was fine so when I walked out mid appointment and told them I was going to A&E I wasn't happy they were shocked and said well what's the point I will be waiting hours.. Luckily I ignored them and went to A&E as turns out my son is really poorly he does have epiglottitis plus bad case of tonsillitis and needed to be on loads of meds and antibiotics. This condition alone can be serious and the walk in nurses were happy to say nothin was wrong when the signs were all there to tell them it was that condition.. Will Not be going there again and especially not with my Children. Overall time in there was a joke place shouldn't be open when they haven't got time for anyone and clearly haven't got a clue what they are doing

I was treated very well from the minute I walked in . Receptionist so well mannered and helpful. Nurses in triage and treatment room were so helpful understanding so professional and treated me with the greatest respect and dignity. I would like to take thim opportunity to say a big thank you to all of them . As today I am feeling a little better with the help; treatment:and understanding I received yesterday 9th June 2023. I know we're I will be going if I wake up again feeling so ill and can't get an as ppointment in my own surgery.

Review titled Brilliant staff and care
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Unfortunately I had an accident with a saucepan and just boiled water and ended up with a nasty burn on my lower leg/ankle. I have visited the centre 3 times to date- for treatment and change of dressings. On each occasion the staff have been brilliant! - from Reception to Triage and Nursing staff. They have been friendly, polite and very professional. They cannot do enough for you. I cannot recommend this Walk in centre highly enough

Review titled No service
Rated 1 star out of 5

I went to the centre with pain and swelling in my arm and breast. Sunday 28th December. I was there a hour when the head of department came out and told us they could only do a trearge service as they were to busy. I had tried to get a doctors appointment on Friday and Saturday with no luck. I found the nurse that looked at my problem very unhelpful and rather snotty. Was told I had a blood pressure of 175 and told they could not help as I need a blood test so back to the doctor. Really a waste of time and the nurse was rude the reason we’re there is because we’re unwell no support or sympathy.
