Review titled Bad experience
Rated 1 star out of 5

19th June 2024- Doctors couldn’t give my 11 year an appointment for a suspected chest infection. So gave me the number of Mount Vernon’s minor injury unit. So I rang them. The 1st time I was on the phone for 1 hour 4 minutes, got to 1st in the queue then it went dead. Rang again and was on the phone 1 hour and 5 minutes. To then be told they can’t see her for a suspected chest infection. Only doctors can treat this. She said I need to go back to the doctors and get an emergency appointment. Or go to hospital take lots of food and wait hours to see someone. Luckily my doctors did give me an emergency appointment. And I saw a nurse, she said she had a chest infection and gave her antibiotics. Didn’t need to get the prescription approved. And we were on our way. She also had one at Easter and again was seen by a nurse. She asked if I spoke to the receptionist and she said they don’t know what they are talking about. Such bad service from the nurse I spoke to. Very disappointed! And had a very stressful few hours.

I experienced great kindness, professionalism and efficiency in my hour of need. Thank you so much to the team, reception and clinicians, at Bodmin MIU, I’m so sorry not to recall all your names.

Attended today after chemical burns sustained at work. Seen very quickly, well within the time stated, despite the unit being very busy. The team were; caring, compassionate, knowledgable and above all else humorous! Laughter really is the best medicine!! Thank-you!

Review titled Efficient and very caring
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Karen Barnard - Posted on 15 April 2024
I had a nasty fall from a ladder was in shock ,blood seeping down my neck, I was trialed quickly by a lovely chap who cleaned me and did a temporary head dressing. I then returned to the waiting room but very quickly a nurse called me. She instantly put me at my ease ,was very empathic , explained what she was doing when she glued the wound and gave me a sheet with information re head injuries to take home. She is obviously passionate about her job and was very caring and smiley ,a real people person. I felt supported and looked after during a very scary time as I had a bad gash and was feeling very shaken. Top notch service thank you NHS

Review titled Amazing experience!!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jessica Whiteley - Posted on 26 April 2024
Arrived at minor injuries with low expectations as my doctors would not see me and were throwing antibiotics at me for something that I found out through minor injuries wasn’t even infected. Expectations were exceeded and I couldn’t have had a better experience. I was treated by an incredible member of staff and he was great. He explained everything thoroughly and made sure I understood what was going on. He was super friendly and made me feel so at ease with the situation and I can’t thank him enough for that!

Friendly staff, knowledgeable and experienced. The MIU nurse did a brilliant job removing sutures that had been in for two weeks . And was very reassuring to a nervous patient.

Arrived with 17month old child, was asked to fill in the form, but 10 minutes later, was told they were going for lunch for 45 minutes... Did not even ask what was wrong...
