I had a telephone assessment today, it's very difficult to get support from these as you'll have to pass a telephone assessment first and if you don't tick the right boxes then they won't accept you. I have learning difficulties and I'm unable to process my thoughts straight away, especially on the phone, I need follow up assessments. I'm told that at this present time we feel your needs are better met by our silvercloud unsupported option, this online thing which I need help with is no good for me. I get very anxious and depressed but I guess mine is not considered bad enough to be eligible for any support from iapt. The assessor also sent me emails to other places that offer support but there of no use to me, I feel there probably so overwhelmed with people that there just pushing us onto others. I can answer questions wrongly as I misunderstood the question, I do misunderstand certain words and questions that most people understand, then sometimes ages later it clicks and I get what they meant. Even my assessment phone call lasted for 50 minutes and I'm not very good at telephone calls, I couldn't hear properly and I not always let on that I didn't hear. It's so stressful and I wouldn't want anyone to go through that, she even told me she couldn't hear me on several occasions, and it sounded as if she was annoyed in a passive aggressive manner. And my goals didn't satisfy her but if she realised my anxiety and I couldn't think clearly at that moment then she should of knew that there probably not my only goals and that I couldn't think properly especially on the telephone. If you need a Councillor or a cbt therapist then it'll be much easier and much less stressful to go private. It's virtually impossible to get to see any therapist from these. Previously it was easy but now it's a nightmare. And my GP reffered me because I'm too anxious to call them but you still have to call them or else they'll cancel you. You might aswell refer yourself but I don't recommend this company now.
