Review titled Operation Cancelled
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Rebecca Thorpe - Posted on 11 October 2024
So waiting over a year it was operation day so we was there from 10am to be told after waiting all day at 5.40pm that my operation was now cancelled. The surgeon explained she had a busy day today and couldn’t fit everyone in today but no body from the reception team had let me know earlier when she had asked them too. I hadn’t eaten or drank all day! I had been given my pre meds at 3.30pm and was all dressed and ready for the op. I am in complete shock to be honest.

Review titled General observation about digital display for patients
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Biri Singh - Posted on 27 September 2024
I accompanied my wife for her appointment today at the Nottingham Treatment Centre. While waiting for our turn to see the doctor, I noticed the colour contrast of the text to the blue background on the digital display unit was such that it was difficult to read. My wife had similar difficulty. We both in our seventies. It may be worth liaising with the department that creates the content for the digital display units to look at using a stronger colour contrast for the text so that it can be more easily read and understood.

Review titled Great practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by VICTOR WARE - Posted on 14 August 2024
I am writing this letter to express my deepest gratitude for the exceptional care I received during my recent stay at your hospital. From the moment I arrived until the time I was discharged, I was consistently met with warmth, compassion, and professionalism by everyone I encountered. To the nurses who provided me with constant care and attention, your kindness and dedication made an enormous difference in my recovery. Your willingness to go above and beyond, whether it was a comforting word or a helping hand, did not go unnoticed. The level of care you provided made my hospital stay much more manageable and less intimidating. To the doctors and surgeons, I cannot thank you enough for your expertise and skill. Your careful explanations and the time you took to address my concerns helped to ease my mind during what could have been a very stressful time. Knowing I was in such capable hands gave me great confidence in my treatment and recovery. The professionalism and friendliness displayed by all the staff members, from the administrative team to the support staff, truly made my time at [Hospital Name] a positive experience. It is clear that the entire team works together seamlessly to provide the highest level of care. Please convey my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in my care. Your dedication and compassion are deeply appreciated and will not be forgotten. With sincere gratitude, mr victor ware

Review titled Parking Experience
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 June 2024
Friday 7 June 2024 10:30 – arrived for 10:50 appointment at the Nottingham Treatment Centre. Waited for around 15 minutes in a queue to enter the car park, my wife went to the appropriate Gateway to advise of the situation at 10:45. She was told that, irrespective of the reason, I would only have around 10 – 15 minutes grace and, then, my appointment would be cancelled. Discovered that the major reason for the shortage of available spaces is due to the number of Treatment Centre staff using the patients’ car park – the staff facility is not that far away. Clearly, a member of the public would not be allowed access to staff parking, so, why are staff allowed to, effectively, block a patient facility? This creates unnecessary problems for patients which could result in appointment losses. There are two outcomes here: 1. Lost valuable NHS time / resource – resulting in unnecessary costs 2. Patients have to wait even longer for their consultations

Dear patient We are sorry to read that when attending for your appointment you found it difficult to park at the treatment centre. Unfortunately this car park holds limited spaces and we would recommend using any of the other 3 patient car parks on site if you are able to. Our staff car parks are for those who are permitted to park on the grounds during their working shift so for any other members of staff who may on occasion need to park there for unavoidable reasons they may then pay to park. I will pass this feedback on to the car parking and facilities department however if you would like more information regarding parking and appointments please contact us directly via the pals service using the email address pals@nuh.nhs.uk Best wishes NUH Car parking

Yet again I needed to attend Eye Casualty, cannot fault the service, thank you to all the staff and the Consultant. The minute you enter this department you are met with friendly helpful staff who explain you may have a wait, which you expect at any casualty department but believe me its worth every minute of the wait for the treatment you receive thank you all!

Review titled Great staff

I attended Gateway H at the Treatment Centre for a colonoscopy. Hardly a fun day out (!) but all staff put me at my ease and chatted to me during the procedure. The Endoscopist explained clearly what was happening and pointed out various aspects on the screen and in particular the site of my anterior resection operation.
