Review titled Not recommended
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Robin - Posted on 19 September 2024
Discharged me abruptly from the service when I told them I had a throat infection that was making it difficult to speak on the phone, with no clear forward signposting other than a single unaffiliated website name (no url provided). Therapist had a tendency to forget key personal details we had discussed such as my name and family situation. Being redirected to this service when I asked my GP for a psychiatric referral was not beneficial to me.

Review titled Unrealistic
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Richard - Posted on 31 August 2024
Notts Talk is entirely geared towards attempting to resolve anxiety, depression and stress resulting from irrational worries. They’re entirely inadequate to handle symptoms resulting from rational problems. My partner is a nursing associate that works in the community based at the Park House facility. Over the years she has repeated lied to me, stolen from me and hidden mail (including my own) because of her continuing debt commitments. In 2021-2022 she stole £4500 of my savings, stole on average £1000 per month of my monthly salary and took out a £5000 loan which she directed the monthly payment to come out my account. I have a mobility car which she uses solely for her own use and not for any benefit of myself. She uses this car for her daily rounds, commute to and from work and her degree. I think of the 6k mile completed I’ve driven no more than 30 miles. I think she driving other than in accordance with the lease agreement which could mean she is potentially driving without insurance. The lease agreement is in my name and my responsibility to ensure the terms of the lease are met. She has previously stolen my credit card and withdrawn amounts of cash between £50-100 per day. My children currently being visited by Nottingham social services and the have various police visits and all because I’ve attempted to find out the truth about what debts and liabilities she has. On ever occasion I’m told various lies in order to cover up her debt commitments. I’ve been repeated told my behaviour is controlling because I’ve attempted to ensure the lease agreement is met, or that she budgets responsibly. Having been redundant, obviously my income has been slashed yet I have to continue to subsidise her transport and phone contract to the sum of £440 per month all with the threat of police intervention or social services because attempting to resolve this or take responsible action to reduce expenditure is classified as controlling and coercive. I called for help from Nottingham Social Services and email to my sons school trying ascertain his food and schools trip activities but was told by the police my single email might constitute ‘alarm, harassment and destress’ All these things are tangible and quantifiable which lead to excessive anxiety, stress and depression of which Notts Talking Therapies is completely unprepared to treat. My exit interview lead to the girl admitting and saying they couldn’t help and I was being discharged on the 15/07/2024 with letter stating ‘Thank you for attending therapy with Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Talking Therapies. We hope you found your sessions helpful, and we wish you all the best for the future’ Notts talking therapies is complete joke and the money should be redirected into proper therapies. I suspect this experiment was entirely for a select selection of staff to work from home and so very little.

Review titled Dreadful service - avoid!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Paul - Posted on 06 August 2024
After GP Referral I was assessed by the service on phone on 23rd July. I was told that I would then received a call back from her the following week, only for this to be cancelled via text due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’. I then waited two weeks with no further contact. I finally reached out on 6th August after hearing nothing and was told by receptionist that I’d been discharged! Apparently they had sent an email & letter to confirm this but I can 100% say that I have received neither. Terrible service, and very concerning that they are allowed to ‘support’ vulnerable people.

Review titled Abysmal

We all know the UK has dreadful customer services but when you experience this in the NHS it is especially annoying! I appreciate honesty if you don't like me or cannot help me then say so but this department prefers to just fob you off which I find very annoying! I was referred to them by my GP in and they said I would have to go on a waiting list however despite speaking to them on the phone twice and being assured I was on the list I have not heard from them since.Earlier today I phoned them and they told me that as they have not being able to contact me by phone I was now off the list and would have to apply all over again.Well other than those initial two times I have not heard back from them,no phone calls,no letters,no emails.Had they try to contact me I would have answered or rung them back if unavailable but instead they have just fobbed me off this department is clearly unfit for purpose! I have booked a telephone appointment with my GP to tell him of my experience and to see if there is an alternative to Talking Therapies, hopefully there is an alternative because I would not like having to deal with these people again!

Review titled Dreadful, diabolical service
by Does it matter who I am? - Posted on 17 April 2024
Each time I've accessed this service I've had an assessment and appointment made and told I need to be speaking with someone asap. Then each time my appointment has been cancelled by notts Talking Therapies. Leaving me having to attempt to book back in again. As someone who struggles with appointments as it is, I now won't access this service as I've been let down too many times. My GP won't do anything to help and there's no alternative places either. You claim my anxiety and depression are severe then make it worse by constantly cancelling appointments. For years I've struggled and for a good couple of years I've asked repeatedly for a mental health assessment who can actually make a diagnosis. You tell me I've built up trauma and PTSD yet fail to see that constantly letting down someone trying to get help makes us feel even more worthless than we already do? It's hard enough having no belief or trust left and Notts Talking Therapies have destroyed any hope that I'll ever get the right help and support I need and make me I'm not worth treating.

Was told on the phone I would be processed and assessed within 5 working days, only to be given a telephone appointment 3 weeks later after waiting 5 days already! Would not recommend at all within 10 mins of speaking to a different organization I've got a face to face appointment in 3 days!! Please go elsewhere as this company do not care!!!!

Review titled Do not use!

I’ve been waiting for so long for an appointment with you. I was referred to you guys weeks ago and I’ve had three appointments cancelled and rescheduled. I just want to get better but you’re making it impossible. I feel like I’m getting worse waiting around for the help while not receiving any and feeling vulnerable and frustrated with your service. Do you actually care about your patients?
