Review titled Stroke risk ignored.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 01 June 2024
After months of trying & failing to get through the phone queue to see a doctor, I eventually got an appointment - except the person I saw was not a doctor. They took my BP & casually mentioned it was high & I should monitor it. I later reviewed the reading in the AP, then bought a monitor & it's extremely high - all the NHS advise says see a doctor! Now I know I am at much higher risk of a stroke and am I'm back to square 1 trying to get an appointment. Park house need to sort out their staffing problems & stop using nurses to do doctors roles.

Review titled Very Poor Practise
Rated 1 star out of 5

Have been struggling now for a while with health problems. I have rang the surgery on numerous occasions where I have had to sit in a queue for over an hour only to be told sorry there is no appointments go to the walk in centre. For 4 months now I have been trying to get an appointment. My daughter also has a medical problem that really needs treating and the same again. " Sorry we can't get you in now or in the future" Absolutely terrible service. Would not recommend this surgery to any one. When speaking to receptionist there, the customer service is awful. Not a happy patient at all.

Review titled Poor reception
by Michele Lione - Posted on 20 April 2024
At 08.00 on 18/04/2024 after having an old dead and dirty 1 inch long thorn pierce my shoe and go all the way into my foot the previous day I decided to do the sensible thing and get it checked by a medical professional and see if I needed a Tetanus jab. I explained this to the receptionist who informed me that I needed to go to either the walk in centre or accident and emergency as they didn't do Tetanus jabs at the practice, which seemed very bazaar to me. I asked that as I was already there if somone could at least take a look at the injury for me? Once again I was informed that I needed to go to either the walk in centre or accident and emergency. Although it was much further I chose to go to accident and emergency as it was easier to get to using public transport due to my foot injury and my walking now being impaired. On arrival at accident and emergency they took my details and checked my medical records, and after my explaining my injury and what had happened at my GP practice appeared baffled as to why I was unable to be treated there, get a Tetanus jab or simply check my records to see when my last Tetanus was. This is when I was informed that I didn't need a Tetanus jab due to me previously having one only four years before at my GP practice on 04/11/2020 after a bad head injury. However accident and emergency checked the wound to my foot, applied a new dressing, and gave me some antibiotics before giving me the ok to leave. I am now left asking why was it that I could not get my injury looked at and my Tetanus records checked at park medical practice instead of being sent away to accident and emergency across the city which took me all morning to do? Fortunately I am not a busy parent or had a job I needed to be at, and had the time to attend accident and emergency. Since Covid we've been asked to check with our local pharmacy or doctor if possible before attending hospital. However when we do we're cast aside and sent away. It's no wonder that the hospitals are so busy.

on phone from 8am no answer so you get fed up and hang up, tried again after 4pm and when the receptionist does pick the phone surprise surprise no appointments and told too phone back next morning at 8am and the cycle starts all over again. unhelpful and rude staff that think they are doctors but guess what they are not, i don't know what the doctors look like anymore as i haven't been able too see one for months. this is a very uncaring practice so i have now change too a practice that does care about their patients.......

Review titled Reception staff require empathy training
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 November 2023
I had a procedure at the qmc on Thursday and was very worried regarding my arm after a pressure cuff had been left on too long and too tight leaving me with a mottled and painful arm . I phoned the qmc and they advised me to pop to my GP and ask to see either a nurse or doctor to take a quick look. When I arrived on the Friday I duly asked if I could briefly see either of the above( this was for reassurance ) and was told in a very unfriendly and non helpful tone ‘ No appointments’ and that was all she said , no apology no ‘I’ll just see if someone could briefly see you’, nothing ! The most unhelpful receptionist I have ever encountered. Even though I told her the qmc had told me to come she wouldn’t budge. The staff here used to be pleasant and helpful, I could easily identify this person but according to the rules this is not allowed.! I might just suggest to whoever is in charge that a little sympathy/empathy and understanding goes a long way when dealing with patients . The only good side to this story , ( after being told earliest appointment would be Thursday 9th) I went to the pharmacy to collect some items and as I was so upset I was offered by the assistant to see the pharmacist , my word, what a difference in service, the pharmacist who was wonderful was able to put my mind at ease in under 5 minutes, nice to know there are some caring people still around. Please improve your service at Park House, it used to be a wonderful surgery.

Review titled Disappointed
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Marianne White - Posted on 08 December 2022
Following a recent bout of Covid I tried ringing the surgery numerous times to speak to someone as I had been advised by 2 different pharmacists that I should .I could not get through to the surgery and so walked there . The receptionist was offhand and unhelpful. I have now transferred to another practice and find that they answer the phone and everyone I have had dealings with appears to be kind and caring.I have been very careful not to bother the surgery in the last few years as I know times are hard for patients and staff but this episode was the final straw for me.
