    Further to a text message, i reported to the Manchester Royal Infirmary for an 08:00AM appointment this morning. Time off work for both my husband and I. An hours travel into the center of Manchester plus fuel and parking. Arrived in good time, reported to reception only to be told there was no appointment. The receptionist read the text that i had received and confirmed that it said 08:00AM at the MRI. The receptionist was puzzled and suggested that i ring the number on the text to try and clear up the confusion. A call to the displayed number was answered, the call handler suggested that i was at the wrong hospital !!! I explained what the text said and that there was absolutely no reference to any hospital other than the MRI (Manchester Royal Infirmary). I asked if i could head straight over for my appointment but was told this was not possible and that i would need to re-book. The first booking available meant another 3 week wait, more time off work, travel and fuel. Shortly after confirming this booking another text popped up, this time it was clear with the appointment correctly confirmed. Very upsetting and now in pain for at least another 3 weeks. Completely avoidable and unnecessary.

    Unfortunately, I have forgotten the name of the amazing lady I spoke to whom eased me into my journey and we had good laughs, she mentioned she had just started so I’m sure she’ll know it’s her! The MRI radiographer was really nice and funny, would definitely go back if I ever need it again!
