Referred by my GP for an urgent ultrasound. Local hospital didn’t have availability so the referral was outsourced to this private company who have a contract with the NHS. Farcical booking system, unlike an NHS referral you do not get an e-mail or letter with your referral and the options to book online. Instead they send you a poorly worded text message stating you have to contact them, if you don’t manage to get through to them in 3 days they cancel your referral and you have to star over with the GP. After receiving the text message from the private company I had to google the details as sadly the poorly worded message and lack of transparency that they’re an external NHS contractor as the message looked like a scam text. Called the phone number and waited over an hour for someone to answer, gave them my details and was repeatedly lied to regarding clinic locations and only offered appointments over 10 miles from my home. When explaining the distance was too far away they continued to lie and state the location was within 5 miles from my home, as I’ve lived here for 36 years you’d think I’d know how far the outer boroughs are from the city centre. I requested my local clinic for the ultra sound and again was lied to, they stated that my GP clinic didn’t offer ultrasounds. I know that this is a lie as they’re advertised on their website and have signage up in the waiting area for ultrasounds. Make no mistake this is a private company outsourcing NHS services in the UK. The person who answered the phone was based outside of the UK and had no idea of the geography of the UK.

On the phone I was told about the requirements before my scan, eg fasting. This was not backed up by email or text and I couldn't remember. Then, after 4 different reminders and exhortations not to be late, I received a text just 3.5 hours before my appointment, when I was already fasting, saying the appointment had been cancelled. This text did not offer another appointment, nor tell me to phone and book one. Their admin is diabolical.

Had an appointment for a scan. Sat patiently in the waiting room for an hour. When I asked, I was told that my appointment had been cancelled by "Patient request", and refused to see me. Absolutely appalling.

Took my husband for scan appointment was cancelled whilst we were in waiting area. As pml had not booked a health care assistant which was needed as scan was testicular. Having to reschedule. We asked if I could be witness but told it has to be another health worker. We were told all male scans were having to be cancelled. It's no wonder the nhs waiting lists are so high when people who turn up for appointments are turned away because of someone's incompetence in booking staff required.
