  1. Review titled Amazing Care throughout

Rated 5 stars out of 5

On the 18th October had a procedure (Subtalar Fusion). From the time arrived at reception then the procedure and post op care was exceptional. One can not fault the staff from porters/nurses/surgical staff (anaesthetist/theatre staff and surgeon). Also the staff after the procedure and until discharge the next day. The Physio was very patient. The non-nursing staff also deserve a mention. Wish I could comment more. This is how it should be.

  3. Review titled Incredible care, expertise and teamwork throughout

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Susan Harrison - Posted on 10 February 2024

My inclination to walk, an activity I had always enjoyed, declined increasingly over a number of years. My condition was diagnosed as stenosis of my lumber spine. The teams at SWLEOC have been fantastic at every stage through diagnosis, initial treatment, exploring and discussing options and enabling me to make informed decisions. I was a particularly anxious about the prospect of an operation, so naturally my decision to go ahead with spinal decompression was not an easy one. However, I was given much support and encouragement and this continued through pre-operative assessments, my admission to SWLEOC, the attention of an amazing spinal surgical team, my time in recovery and my stay in Oaks Ward. I really can't praise the staff sufficiently for all that they did. I left hospital with clear instructions about what I needed to do to aid my recovery and was given contact details should I need more advice. I had excellent attention from the physiotherapists at SWLEOC and within a few days arrangements had been made for on-going physiotherapy. It has been a remarkable experience and my thanks and admiration for an amazing level of care and extraordinary teamwork at SWLEOC. I am now progressing well. Thank you.

I can’t praise Swleoc highly enough. From start to finish the care is exceptional. All the staff from doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and catering staff were very professional and kind, nothing was too much trouble for them. The nurses work extremely hard but always have a smile, they are angels. The wards are clean and welcoming, and the variety of meals are amazing, they cater for everyone. It really is first class and I would have no hesitation in recommending this unit to anyone who is in need of hip surgery.
