Absolutely fantastic all the staff and surgeons were amazing had both cataracts done within 5 weeks extremely happy also my wife had one done very quickly no waiting for weeks job done well would highly recommend spa medica

From start to finish I was made welcome, kept informed and made to feel important. Staff brilliant, polite and nothing too much trouble for them. I know my second cataract operation will be a pleasant experiance. Keep up the good work.

The outcome has been exemplary. However areas in staff training needs looking at, a. Receptionists. Why not smile and be less patronising. Most patients are over 65 be mindful. B. Overcrowded waiting area with no air con. C. Basic post op care advice “ do not bend down”, so thoughtless and callous “ nurse” tells elderly patients to get a locker, or even hands a key, locker positioned near to the floor when there are empty ones on the middle and top. I witnessed whilst waiting, three patients, elderly, struggling whilst bending down to open their lockers… “ nurse” stood watching. What part of don’t bend down does she not get!? Or, maybe she does., shocking . Another one doing drops, harsh contact with skin, fragile in elderly women, lacked compassion and empathy .. poor attitude. Positives: place is immaculate thanks to superb cleaners. Surgeon very efficient. Male nurses were extremely caring and thoughtful. Music not soothing or relaxing given most people can be nervous around eye operations. Excellent response over the phone if in pain post op. Well organised.

After having two cataracts removed and being slightly nervous, I have to say that that the practice from the receptionists, nurses and surgeons was first class.

Nothing but praise for the prompt and efficient service provided at the initial assessment and follow up surgery (within 24hrs due to my willingness to accept a cancellation at short notice). All my questions answered with a smile and reassurance. No after effects or paracetamol needed.Surgeon confirmed it had gone well and praised me for keeping still and relaxed which was much appreciated. No qualms about returning for my left eye in a few weeks time.

I was contacted by SpaMedica within one day after the referral from the optician. My pre assessment appointment and the cataract operation were completed within two weeks. All the staff are incredibly attentive and efficient. The premises are super and run so well. Really good aftercare too. Highly recommend

I was treated very well despite being an NHS patient. The staff were friendly and welcoming for all of my visits for cataract surgery on both eyes over a period of about three months.

I was petrified before going to have my cataract done but I was put at ease quite quickly and the whole operation took just over 2.5 hours. Returned home and that’s when the problems started. I can now see a car number plate very clearly except that it appears to have lots of flies or floaters covering it. This has been going on for 3 weeks - let’s hope they can resolve this next week when I return for a check up.

Friendly and relaxed atmosphere. My journey from reception through to theatre and discharge was very efficient and therefore reassuring.
