    First cataract surgery done just 4 weeks after referral and 2 weeks after pre-assessment at the Clinic. Friendly, reassuring staff and on my way home in just over two hours. One week on and everything has settled down with excellent results. Clarity of vision after surgery and through the new lense is superb. Will be back for the other eye to be done following the 6 week checkup at my local opticians. Clarity of vision after surgery and through the new lense is superb.

    From opticians appointment to cataract op only two weeks. Very professional staff with friendly manner. Really pleased with result.

    All very efficiently arranged, and very professional, however one thing was a little difficult for me. I was not told how to indicate should a problem arise. Very sadly the anaesthetic drops I assume were used did not prevent me feeling most of what was done. Not knowing what to expect I flinched a few times without intention so was asked a couple of times to keep my head up which I tried hard to do but the procedure was painful. I do have a history of anaesthetic problems when at the dentist but I had no way to indicate I was feeling it all without moving or speaking. I did try my best to keep still. Otherwise everyone was very kind and I have had no problem since for which I am very thankful to SpaMedica. God willing my second cataract removal will be more comfortable now that the staff know of my problem which I accept may be unusual.

    My experience on the day I can only describe in one word and that would be uncaring by the staff whilst having treatment. Over the last 2 months I have had 3 operations with the NHS, I would say this is by far the worst experience I have had. I felt like I was just another number, not surprised we did not have numbers marked on our foreheads, sat I pens waiting to be marched in. At no point once in surgery was I told who was who or even acknowledge when I walk in. I was extremely nervous and shaking but no attempt was offered to calm me down, the surgeon just kept asking what was wrong. The music was far too loud and not calming at all, I could not hear what was being said. I was so cold, I had 3 layers on, I could not stop shaking. Once the dressing was ripped off my eye with no warning and sat up, out to be left freezing in the corridor, finally I was offered a hot drink, but no herbal teas which I thought was not good if you can't drink tea or coffee. The whole experience in my experience was uncaring, just another number I'm afraid.

    It's a very welcoming place.all the staff are wonderful.they are all so kind .they do everything to.make the patient feel comfortable. I was very impressed with the care I received.i couldn't wish for more.well done everyone for the excellent service you provide.big Thank you.

    Modern, very clean facilities in pleasant surroundings. Very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient staff. Processing of patients well thought out, keeping total visit time to a minimum. Going in I was a little apprehensive, but the staff explained all procedures which left me reassured by the time I left. Well done SpaMedica.

    I was put at my ease by all the staff and the various different rooms for examinations and registration were staffed by friendly professionals. My experience of the actual cataract procedures were not too alarming!

    I had my first cataract done on 2nd March. Any fears I had were completely unnecessary. The procedure was very quick and I had hardly any pain. My vision is now good! The second op. was on 5th April and rather more complicated but still an OK experience - I'd advise people to ensure they have strong painkillers available - however I now have almost perfect vision and my optician quickly prescribed relatively inexpensive reading spectacles after both operations so that I can now read well and drive again (after only a month). This NHS service is worth thousands but available free!!! The doctors and nurses are very kind and reassuring and I have nothing but praise for this clinic's performance and expertise!!!

    Treatment and care was very good, speed of being seen and procedure was good. Had fluid in my eye after treatment that needed further course of medication. Optometrist very helpful and reasssuring and explained everything in detail. Being greeted at the main door at a standing desk rather than going to a reception seemed a bit odd, but the person was extremely helpful and friendly. Medical staff all really helpful and polite (and willing to help and give time when asked questions). Good to be have free biscuits and drinks available at all times too. Only negative review point was that the admin desk people all seemed very grumpy, quite different to the medical staff. Wasn't just with me, noticed that about them on each of my visits. Just a bit 'off' in their attitude. Otherwise very pleased.
