    Most accommodating with confident reassurance. I was on edge as my appointment times and dates were such a muddle (due to computer errors) also notes hadn’t arrived from Exeter, started to feel on edge and uneasy also doubting competence.! Obviously unfounded as everyone was brilliant. The pre surgery room was tiny and had hot air blown in. Due to this change of temperature I started coughing (as most would) there was no room to walk away from the temperature as I wasn’t allowed out due to a pellet in my eye to dilate my eye. I felt extremely claustrophobic and could only pace up and down to stop the coughing before surgery. I was in this room for over an hour and half. Reading material was limited to eye care pamphlets. I wish it had been suggested to bring a book to listen to or at least a magazine. I became very wound up before surgery. Thankfully the next little room was cooler and pacified by the team and surgeon.

    Cataract removal proceeded speedily and with great treatment and excellent care and concern by staff. Every detail of what was happening was explained to me and also great care was taken to ensure I knew what I had to do in the days following surgery. I have no medical qualifications and found the level of care and patience very reassuring.

    My 92 year old father attended for cataract surgery. From start to finish we could not fault our experience. The reception staff were warm, friendly, reassuring but also very professional. They put my father at ease and made sure he had drinks and biscuits whilst we waited. As we progressed through the system to the medical staff this ethos was continued. Everybody that we came into contact with were extremely welcoming and always professional. On the day of his operation they explained everything to us and I was amazed by how quickly and smoothly it went. We would highly recommend SpaMedica to anyone.

    Although not the nearest clinic to my home I choose this one because it had the shortage waiting times, both for assessments and cataract operations. A wise choice as I had my assessment on February 22nd and my operation four days later on February 26th. I couldn't fault anything - facilities, staff, organisation, etc were all excellent, despite computer problems on the day of my assessment which caused delays in excess of half and hour. My sincere thanks to all concerned.

    The staff were so friendly and made me feel relaxed, I was in and out in no time and will have no worries when I have my other eye done.

    From start to finish I was made to feel comfortable about the surgery. What made it for me was, how the opitmologist talked me through the surgery which made me feel ready for the operation.

    Went in for a Cataract operation. Arrived at 8.45 left around 11. Superb service from every person who guided me through the procedure. The surgeon was especially good. So calm and reassuring. His skills were brilliant, as my eye the next day looked like it normally does. I have had virtually no uncomfortable symptoms and hope that as long as I follow their very detailed after care rules it will stay that way

    I have only praise for my treatment. I was seen shortly after being referred and was offered a surgery date almost immediately. Although that was unsuitable, I was able to have the operation 2 weeks later. I suffered no pain afterwards and did not need to take painkillers. Each step was explained and I felt able to ask questions and query answers.

    Staff, building, facilities were all "a1" - staff friendly & helpful (in all departments) - building clean, bright, comfortable. Tea & coffee machines & water available. Everyone went out of their way to ensure me & my family who accompanied me were looked after & kept informed of the procedure. I would highly recommend SpaMedica Bristol.

    I had my first cataract operation at the Bristol hospital shortly after they opened and had such good treatment I chose to return there. Saw my optician on 5th January 2024 who arranged the referral. My date for the assessment was arranged for 6th February just 5 weeks after seeing the optician. Unfortunately was cancelled by Spa Medica on the day but rescheduled for 8th February. 5he assessment went smoothly and all the staff were kind, caring and helpful. I was given a date for the operation right away and this took place on Tuesday 12th February. I cannot fault the service given and the whole process was completed just five weeks and four days after my visit to the optician. Had I opted for another hospital (Royal United Bath or Bristol Eye Hospital for example) I could have faced a forty week wait! Spa Medica Bristol even had patients from Newport, Wales when I was there. I consider myself very lucky to have been treated so quickly by such a great team of people. Thank you to everyone
