I've had both cataracts done here since July yesterday being my second op. Whilst waiting I was asked if I would like a drink and biscuits . After the op the computer system was down but I received a call today to confirm my post op appt. All staff are very helpful.

I had a fantastic experience. I cannot praise everyone enough. They were all so kind, friendly, helpful and informative. I felt as if I mattered to them, as nothing seemed too much trouble, any worries I had soon disappeared and I felt safe and reassured. When my surgeon was explaining to me what he was about to do and asking if I was ok, I told him I was fine and was about to have a little snooze. Thank you all so much for looking after me so very well, I am eternally grateful, it was a pleasure to meet you all. I don't think my sight has ever been this good. I'm over the moon. xxx

Had cataract procedure Tuesday 27 aug. I was reassured throughout by very friendly and professional members of staff. Outcome was a complete success and I fully recommend SpaMedica. I look forward to having the other eye done in due time.

I can't praise SpaMedica high enough for the fantastic care I have received from the team at Colchester. The clinic is immaculately clean and tidy, every member of the staff was friendly, caring and efficient. The medical team check at every stage that they have the correct patient and explain fully what they are doing. No question is dismissed but answered fully. When I arrived for surgery on my right eye, I had a problem with that eye. The surgeon came out to assess the situation and informed that he couldn't operate on that eye today. But as I also needed surgery on the left eye he said he would do that surgery instead if I agreed. The necessary changes to the oaperwork was quickly implemented over on the theatre side, and surgery on the left eye was successfully completed. I was very nervous of having the surgery but it was completely painless, very quick and above all successful, my sight in that eye is now perfect. I'm on my 5th day after surgery and can't wait to go back to have the right eye done. I would 100% recommend this clinic to anyone who needs cateract surgery.

Was treated very good and put at ease by wonderful staff would highly recommend will be having second eye done very soon. The waiting time for surgery is very short.

I have had cataract surgery on both eyes second one on 28 August. Very pleased with the service, both with the lovely people working there and the short wait times before the appointment. In fact my recent one was next day. A special mention to my surgeon who has a wonderful ability to put you at ease, especially good for a nervous patient like me. Thank you all at SpaMedica.

I had a good experience except for one area. My eyes have adapted themselves to mono vision. This is my second eye to have a cataract surgery This is my distance eye. I had discussed continuing with mono vision at my previous surgery and my consultant at the West Suffolk hospital was happy to do this . This time I asked about continuing with mono vision and was uncomfortable with the way my questions were answered I felt I was being told that's your decision but it's not advised. Then I was pushed to sign the consent form. I asked for more clarification then felt ok with signing the form. I assumed I would have another opportunity to discuss this with the surgeon but he told me he only had information on the eye he was about to operate on This mornings the day after my procedure my eyes are seeing as I hoped.

It was my second cataract and because of my previous experience I was quite relaxed and I wasn’t disappointed. I can’t fault the surgeon. My one small problem was the discharge nurse who spoke so fast and very quietly that I couldn’t understand her properly. Having already had one eye done I knew what I needed to do but had it been the first one I would have had a real problem.
