Staff were friendly, reassuring and kept me informed at all times. I was seen on time and have had no problems after the procedure. I have a follow up appointment next month and after that will have my other eye done. I would have no hesitation in recommending Spamedica, Kendal

Thoroughly professional and friendly from beginning to end. Every step was thoroughly explained in the booklets and discussed in person, by friendly knowledgeable staff. I was made to feel comfortable and never left in doubt as to what came next. The cataract surgery was quick and simple. I have no reservations about surgery to my other eye in the coming weeks. I can think of nothing that they could have done better.

Just had cataract removal surgery at SpaMedica, Kendal and from start to finish everything was perfect! The staff are so friendly, caring, knowledgeable and helpful as well as being brilliant at their jobs. They really take care of you and make sure that you are well prepared for the surgery and they provide excellent aftercare plus the clinic is clean, bright and welcoming. I would 100% recommend using the clinic at Kendal for a worry free experience with an excellent result.

I have had both eyes done and both had different experiences. The first only seemed to take about ten minutes and was absolutely painless. The only problem I had was extremely runny eyes that lasted until the next day. The second operation seemed to take much longer (two different surgeons) and was definitely a little uncomfortable. I have to mention that in both operations it would have been nice to have been told what was going to happen when the surgeon had finished. For example, instead of suddenly ripping off the face covering, being advised that it was going to happen. I am not one of those wimpy types but others might be. This is just an observation not a complaint as such. I have to say though that the staff, from the two excellent gentlemen on the door to the nurses and surgeons were very very good and explained everything that was going to happen. I would definitively highly recommend the practice at Kendal. The first eye is now fully recovered after being quite painful for a while, the second which was only done yesterday is. Pain free with only a slight fluttering sensation in one corner, hopefully this will go in time. Thanks for the experiences.

I had cataract surgery. Everything was highly efficient, friendly and relaxed. I was made to feel at ease throughout and I was only on site for 90 minutes total. Top quality service.

I went for a cataract pre-op assessment on Saturday 19th August and the surgery was scheduled for the following Friday. Everything was thoroughly explained to me, and I was given ample opportunity to ask questions. The surgery itself was quick and painless, and full and clear instructions were given to me immediately prior to the procedure by the surgeon as to what I should and should not do during the operation. The anaesthetic was by eye drops, no needles were involved, and it was a totally painless experience. It is now the day after the operation, and I have now removed the eye shield and have started using the eye drops given to me. Other than occasional aching in the operated eye during the night, I have not suffered any discomfort whatsoever, my vision is clearer and brighter in that eye, but obviously doesn’t quite match the existing prescription in my present glasses. This will require a new prescription after things have settled down in a few weeks time. My 4 week follow up appointment is with my own optician, so I won’t have to travel again. I can happily recommend Spa Medica, the waiting list is short, typically about 4-6 weeks referral to op, and the service is second to none, very friendly and very professional. The premises are modern, very clean and welcoming. When you arrive you are welcomed at the door, signed in and offered refreshments, and after your operation aftercare is explained thoroughly, and you can ask about anything that you’re unsure about, and you are given any medications you will require and an information booklet to take home with you. I’d just like to say a big thank you to all the Spa Medica team for making my experience such a smooth and positive journey back to clear eyesight, and wish you all well for the future. Many thanks.

Staff all very efficient and friendly and all were professional. Very good set up for cataract surgery. Kept patient and supporting family informed at all times. Only criticism was letter that came that related to pre-op assessment didnt have sufficient information, but a questioning email was very quickly answered.
