I had my procedure yesterday and I am thrilled already. I was extremely anxious about the procedure. From the minute you enter the building you are met with helpful staff. The nursing staff were incredible. They introduced themselves and reassured me through each step. Cannot fault a thing. The hospital is immaculate. There are refreshments if needed. Would definitely recommend this clinic

I had a cataract removed in Liverpool almost three weeks ago. My experience with the reception and other ancillary staff was positive; they were friendly and efficient. However, the actual operation was conducted in a conveyor-belt like manner. I was with the surgeon for approximately eleven minutes, ten of which I was being operated on. If I had not spoken to the surgeon I would have had no verbal interaction at all. When I sat up after treatment, the surgeon had already left the operating theatre which nonplussed me. The operation, to my great surprise, was so painful that my back arched. Luckily, I think I was held down. Since then my cheek has been swollen, my eyes bloodshot and my eye sockets feel as if I have been punched in the eye. I have white flashes in the corner of my eye which can be very disturbing. My vision is worse than before the operation. I knew the procedure was to remove the cataract not improve vision but I did not expect my vision to deteriorate. Reading is more difficult. I cannot see my watch, I put peanut butter into my breakfast cereal instead of honey. I intend to change my lightbulbs to stronger power in the hope that this will help. I arranged a review where, after examination, I was given more steroid eye drops. I was not reassured that my vision would improve. I live alone with no family or social support and I worry for my future wellbeing.

I arrived feeling very anxious but the staff there are lovely, made me feel very relaxed and when it was my time to go in the theatre I was fine. It was over and done with within about 20 minutes and having a cuppa! My experience was fantastic, definitely recommend, thank you.

Referral, pre op and surgery completed within a month. All staff I encountered were friendly, professional, skilled and efficient. I have no complaints.

Having attended the pre op appointment and now had my first cataract done I can honestly say it was a 5 star experience from being greeted at the door right through to the op. All the staff are polite, pleasant and informative. The clinic is run smoothly and very little waiting time in between all the different procedures you go through. Before the op the surgeon comes and introduces himself and also explains what he is going to do which made me feel more at ease, and the op itself was painless. I would highly recommend SpaMedica to anyone requiring cataract treatment. A big thank you to all the staff for making this an easy and painless experience .

Hi had cataract done everyone at practice was very helpful an polite got free coffee while waiting I was nervous but didnt need to be as they talked me through what was goin to happen . Surgery went really well didn't feel anything and while getting it done I seen different colour lights was good and interesting to see . Got drops for my eye when leaving so really looked after . Thank you would recommend

Everything was excellent until getting on the theatre bed. Did not seem to be able to cope with disabled folk. Asked for pillows under my knees as lying flat really hurts me. Also asked the person to guide my left leg onto the table which he did but far too quickly.I have a pinned hip so came out not only with a sore eye but sore hip. This just let the place down and needs addressing.

I took my dad today for his cataract surgery and cannot thank the staff enough for looking after him. My dad has Dementia and they went over and above to help him get through his procedure. This really does make a difference. Excellent facilities too which make the experience so much easier with the wheelchair. Thank you.

I've had two eye operations at this clinic and both times have been a first class experience. From reception to discharge the whole process was conducted with friendly ,efficient , and courteous professionalism. The time scale of the completion of my operations was very welcome.
