Welcomed by a gentleman who for the second time, placed all my fears at rest with his humourous, friendly approach and genuine efforts to reassure. The same welcome was received from the nurse who 'signed us in'. Every member of the team was helpful and amiable. The wait was unusually very long compared to my first visit, apparently because of an emergency but all the waiting patients were sociable and tolerant. (The team are working near-miracles every day, remember.) The facility was spotless throughout, demonstrating the paramount importance applied in keeping cleanliness at absolutely top level. Very impressed by this aspect! The surgeon himself was pleasant, likeable and friendly and explained the procedure to me in detail. I was once again most impressed by the teamwork before and in the 'theatre', from start to finish. Ten out of ten for the entire operation!

I had a cataract operation at Spa Medica Oxford. They were very efficient and I was put at ease throughout the procedures. Most importantly the operation was a complete success and my eye which previously had very poor vision, now has excellent vision. Thank you. PS: the 'Same Sex' question was not relevant to my treatment so I chose the don't know option to respond to that question.

All treatment received at pre-treatment and treatment stages of my experience has been first class Excellent facilities and treatment by all staff has been superb Cataract removal was very quick and completely painless and fully explained prior and during process No discomfort experienced at anytime during or following procedure My only bad comment was regards cancellation of my appointment three times prior to receiving treatment - 1) Transport being unavailable 2) Failure of equipment at hospital 3) Unavailability of surgeon This was more than made up for by personal collection on revised treatment date My own overall experience has been first class and I would thoroughly recommend SpaMedica to anyone planning cataract removal Many thanks to all staff concerned

The staff keep you updated as to what is happening, and take great care that you are comfortable. The time between an appointment at the Opticians and being called for a procedure at SpaMedica is very short, - the whole system is very efficient and works well.

I had never heard of SpaMedica until it was suggested I went there. The building was spotless and the ‘team’ were kind and friendly. Details of the procedure were explained in full. The actual operation was quick and painless.

Both pre op and surgery experience good. Good team, friendly, smiling and professional. At the pre op the notable exception was the Optometrist who was late, impersonal, a poor listener and generally cold. Such a shame because she let the team down as everyone else was stellar. On the day of the procedure again the team were great, especially the gent doing the meeting and greeting. There is a fair amount of waiting around both in the main waiting area and in the separate area used once dilation pellet etc had been done. In this second area the wait was substantial and each individual was alone without any potential support from whomsoever brought them. I was fine but others might not be and I question whether there is much merit in the separation of areas. Surgeon was pleasant and informative and the procedure took only about 10 minutes and was preferable to the dentist in my view! My other comment would be in relation to the availability of wifi. There was no evidence of a “guest” wifi as is very common in other places. Given the long periods of sitting and waiting a well publicised access arrangement would be useful, I used my phones 5G but this is less than ideal. Some were trying to communicate with their companions - updating them with estimates on time until surgery but were unable to do so, another reason for less “separation” between one group and another. Someone joked that perhaps it wasn’t seen as necessary given the average age of the patients, I hope that is not the view!!!

from the moment I walked thro the door warmth and professional attitude prevailed. my surgeon was amazing ensuring my relaxation and a great rapor with his team

Great personal, sympathetic, reassuring and caring staff from the nurses to the surgeon. The actual surgery was less stressful than I expected and my eye is recovering far quicker than I had anticipated.
