This is an excellent clinic! I had a thorough (and I mean thorough) assessment on the Friday and had the cataract op on the following Monday! The place is brand new, squeaky clean and functions like a well-oiled machine, but that doesn't mean the staff are uncaring - quite the opposite. I received first-class care throughout and was very impressed with all the attention to detail. Just a small example of the attitude of the people here - just outside the theatre is a hand-written sign which tells you that if you need a hand hold, just ask! Brilliant!

From referral by my optician in November 24 to surgery on December 2nd and January 6th the service I received was professional, efficient and friendly . Verbal information given and reinforced by written information . The surgeon letting you know his progress with the operations was very reassuring . Post op , following the rules, I have had no problems and my vision clear and so colourful

I was referred by my optician at the end of September this year. Within a week of the referral I had had the assessment at Spa Medica and by the beginning of September had had both cataracts dealt with.

I was referred by my optician on isle of wight for cataract surgery on NHS at Portsmouth . I was seen and assessed within a week and first surgery within another week in October . Following discovery of another problem in my right eye I was re referred and seen within a week for follow up and booked for laser in Jan/ feb 2025 I was referred for left eye cataract and within one week had surgery yesterday 16th December . I was treated with upmost professionalism at all times, all staff were fabulous at all times . I am looking forward to returning in 2025 .

I had cataract surgery on 0ctober and November 2024. Both times staff very friendly and helpful. Surgery was done very quickly and the only hanging about was for dilation drugs and anaesthetic to work. Very good.

Welcoming, clean facility where everything explained as to what was to be done and what was being done. Then any questions answered and leaflets to cover before and after care. Generally very impressed by whole set up.

These guys know what they are doing and they are doing it well. I was in and out within 1 hour for the cataract surgery. All pain free. Everything was explained step by step. Nothing to worry about at all.

It is a very nice Eye Hospital/Clinic. Very quick to get both consultation and procedure. Clinicians and other staff look after you so well. Extremely well run and very pleased with the procedure

I had my NHS cataract surgery just two weeks after referral to SpaMedica in Portsmouth from my own optician on the Isle of Wight, much much quicker that anticipated. From the moment I walked through the door for the pre assessment every member of staff was very friendly and welcoming from initial greeting by reception, through nurses, ophthalmologist and consultant carrying out the surgery. I was put at ease immediately, everything was explained very clearly, in particular the options regarding the strength of the new implanted lens. On the day of the surgery I was early for my appointment, but was seen straightaway and was on my way home in under an hour! I was told to expect slight headache, gritty and watering eye for the rest of the day, and that was the case, but Ibuprofen took care of that without any problem. The next morning all was much better, gritty feeling gone and just a slight ache now and then when focusing. Eyesight perfectly clear and no blurriness. Now looking forward to the post op check, and then my new prescription for my much improved vision. I can't praise SpaMedica enough. Highly professional and lovely caring people.

I have nothing but praise for this practice. From the initial welcome (where the staff ensured that I had made arrangements to be driven home after the operation) through to Reception offering an appointment for the next stage, the service was first class. Although I had not been looking forward to the operation, in actual fact it proved to be most satisfactory. The surgeon explained every step and answered any questions that I had. All the medical staff were considerate, helpful and reassuring. I couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you for your five-star performance.
