I could not speak more highly of my experience at SpaMedica, Preston. All staff were friendly, efficient and very capable. I had my first cataract procedure in October and the result has been transformational with my sight in that eye matching the best it has been in my 73 years to date. I very much look forward to my upcoming second operation which I feel confident will prove equally effective. Thank you SpaMedica.

From the pre op to the cataract op at every stage I received a detailed explanation and prompt, efficient and professional treatment, instilling me with confidence and reassurance.

I suffer from extreme anxiety and medical phobias a life long situation from a bad experience 60 years ago. I put off going to my optician as my left eye became blurred due to fearing something other than new glasses was a distinct possibility. At a check up I was diagnosed with a cataract. I was referred to Spamedica in Preston by my wonderful optician. All within 4 weeks from that referral I was operated on and its already changed my life. I realise how bad my eye sight was and now I can see so well I cannot believe what I had been living with as my sight was not great in one eye. Two days after the operation I am typing this, near distance has also improved and I can see long distance again with no problem. I can honestly say the team at spamedica from the ever cheerful porter who welcomed us at the door and smiled through my snappy demeanor due to my fear, he sat with me telling me I was going to be fine as his colleagues were amazing (he was right they are), to my wonderful skilled surgeon , and the wonderful nurses I got through this. Nothing happened to put me off or from saying to anyone don't hesitate to have this done, this will change your life. All the staff made me feel safe and supported mentally and physically . Nothing was too much trouble and they are fully supportive of someone with mental health problems as I have. These people have changed my life and I thank and appreciate everything they have done for me. I never thought I could face something like this but these wonderful people held my hand metaphorically and during the operation physically. Not all super heros wear capes! I am honoured and delighted I could leave this review

My mum went for cataract surgery. She has short term memory loss and was a bit confused. The staff were amazing with her from walking into leaving. They arranged for a nurse to hold her hand during surgery and made her feel safe and comfortable. Can't thank them enough

I would like to thank all the staff at spa medica today ,from the moment I arrived Till I exited the building. They were friendly and explained everything to me that was going to happen in surgery. I was in and out in no time and and sort off dreading this day to come . Absolutely credit to the NHS Many thanks Sean

From the initial inspection to the completion of cataract surgery on both eyes the service offered was absolutely first class. It was good to have a specific time with suitable time gaps between each patient rather than five or six patients with the same time for their appointment. I cannot speak too highly of the care and attention to detail given at each stage, the whole set up seemed to run so efficiently. I was put at ease from the beginning. My appointment was at 9.00am and I was on my way home just after 10.15 am. Just superb.

All staff, medical and administration were helpful, informative and professional. In spite of some apprehension on my part at first regarding the procedures it was fully explained and the operation itself remarkable quick. Following the procedures my vision is much improved and everything much brighter. Thank you to all concerned.

I felt as if I were an inanimate object on a production line. The reception staff and the nurses were OK, although could have been a bit more personable. However, the surgeon was very brusque and, when I yelped in pain, made no attempt to stop and give more anaesthetic, or even reassure or apologise. I don't want to put anyone off having a cataract operation. Other people I've spoken to have had no problems and my sister actually enjoyed it. I think I was just unlucky with a surgeon who forgot I was human.
