    A very efficient service with fast track assessment and operation dates. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming and the procedure on operation day was fantastic, so quick but everyone still had time to care

    Hello, I had my first appointment at Spa Medica Retina Clinic, Romford in March following an urgent referral by my optician. I found everything to be first class. Friendly staff. Everywhere very clean and I had a really lovely Optometrist who took the time to listen and answer my questions as well as thoroughly checking my eyes. However, I was told I needed an urgent referral for a further,more detailed scan and that the referral would be made to Broomfields Hospital in Chelmsford. Two weeks on and Broomfields say they have received nothing. I have spent an hour and a half calling between them and the Eye Clinic and am still not confident that the referral has been made and will have to check with Broomfields again in the next little while. Apparently, the referral has to be made using the e-referral system and cannot be made by email which is what Spa Medica did. I have had a great deal of trouble trying to sort this out and am quite worried about my eyesight and the time that has already been wasted during which my referral could have been being looked at and graded and an appointment sent out to me. It was lucky that I checked with Broomfields today and didn't keep waiting for my appointment to come. I was rushed off the phone by one of the people I spoke to at Spa Medica when I tried to tell her that the referral had to be made using the e-referral system and whilst I do understand that mistakes happen, I feel that with something as important as vision, that staff should be 100% aware of the correct way to make an urgent (or non -urgent) referral. Broomfields implied that it is fairly common for referrals not to reach them as staff send emails in the mistaken hope that "it will be quicker" when in fact, emails "don't work" . I feel this is something that staff should be made completely aware of as it could lead to patients eyesight deteriorating while they wait for an appointment that is never going to.come because the referral never reached its intended destination. Thank you for reading this and I hope very much that I get my scan appointment soon. Not least because I am due back at the Romford Eye Clinic on the 1st May and really needed to have had the scan results so that the next step in my treatment could be ascertained.

    I went to my optician on Friday she referred me to spa medica on the way home in car I received a call telling me I had an appt. On Monday at0830 I went there had fabulous service was booked in for surgery on Tuesday and all was done. What an amazing place. The staff were welcoming and professional. The place was spotlessly clean. The whole experience was truly amazing well done

    First class treatment on both eyes. All the Staff from entering the building through to exiting were excellent. Friendly atmosphere and was put at my ease at every step . Always available to ring for advice Well done to all the staff

    Thank you for the care and assurance given to me during both me operations. At 85 years of age you hear so many horror stories surrounding eye operations. The operations were under taken in a fresh environment and everything was clean and tidy. Anyone waiting to under take this operation, there is no need for trepidation. very friendly staff, from signing and registering up to departure after operation, I was treated with the utmost respect. If you had to go into hospital for anything, this he place to go. A Big thank you to you all.

    What a contrast to the lumbering NHS! Just had my cataract surgery and can't believe how smoothly and efficiently the whole process went. And not just efficient, but the staff were very helpful, polite and friendly too. This company's success is very well deserved.

    Had my cataract done today. Everything went so smoothly. Called in on time . Staff really nice. Couldn’t fault anything I’m home now and resting . 10/10
