I had both eyes treated for cataracts, left in July, right in November 2023. The whole treatment was excellent, courteous, considerate and supportive throughout. The speed of recovery was remarkable, the outcome beyond my expectations. A previously planned holiday delayed the first operation but Spamedica were very prompt in dealing with the July operation on my return. It was so good to take a text message about the first date as soon as our ferry was within reach of the local mobile network! There was an unexpected hold up (nothing to do with Spamedica) between the operations but in due course everything went ahead as planned on a changed schedule. To be told shortly after the right eye treatment I was quite likely to have 20/20 vision and only need reading glasses was great news. *I found the bottle containing the drops was made from quite a stiff plastic. Something softer would have been easier to use. *The information booklet was clear and the diary / log was most helpful. *It was a huge relief to remove the shield from my eye and find that I could see better than expected, the muzzy view through the shield had been slightly off-putting. A big thanks, well done Spamedica and my optician.

From assessment to my second cataract surgery everything was perfect. All the staff were attentive and very kind so you don't need to be nervous. Back home within 3 hours on all appointments and vision was clear same day. Can't recommend highly enough. Many thanks.

I had my 1st cataract removal in September 2023 which was a pleasant experience all staff were very friendly & kind. I then went for a second cataract removal on the opposite eye October 2023 & had quite a pleasant experience right up until having the surgery when the surgeon actually became quite abrupt & shouted at me twice to stop moving my eye which I actually didn’t know was moving.

Everything from start to finish was amazing, all the staff are Friendly warm and make sure you are well informed and at ease at every stage. They made it all very stress free amazing journey from start to finish.

A quick thank you to all your staff for their excellent service at my recent visits re my cataract surgery. I have an aversion to "anything" to do with my eyes - you only get one set mentality - but I was put completely at ease and this was fully borne out by the actual operation itself. Many, many thanks and please carry on your good work....I've got the other eye waiting to be "done"!!

Attended twice - once for cataracts in each eye. Efficient, polite and professional throughout the hospital procedures. Good liaison with opticians. One small criticism: on 4th October visit the computer system went down and caused significant delays. Briefing the waiting patients about what was going wrong and when it might be sorted was very poor.

Surgery went well and long sight now almost perfect. Will need reading glasses and possibly a pair of varifocals as vision up to about 3 foot away is now requiring aid. Although there are risks with any surgery, I would recommend this surgery based on my experience. Staff very good and the whole system seems to be well run
