Not a good experience. There was a trainee with the surgeon. I didn't mind this as I had been told, rather than asked, that she would do the last stage of the operation . She was put in at the very start. Several times the surgeon had to take over as she seemed unable to do what was required. This caused the procedure to take much longer. My first cataract was done at Probus. It was a very quick, calm and peaceful experience. This time there was a loud running commentary and the whole thing felt out of control. I'm glad it was my first cataract operation as I wouldn't be going back for a second.

My visit to SpaMedica was outstanding in every way, from my referral appointment to the day of my surgery. The atmosphere was relaxing and extremely well organised. Every member of staff were so friendly & courteous. A member of staff offers you a hot drink on arrival, which was well received. My appointment after my referral was only a two week wait, away, unbelievable! All the staff made you feel very relaxed & every process was explained clearly. The procedure itself was quick and painless. I cannot commend the staff at Truro high enough. They were amazing.

I had my first eye operation in December and I was very nervous. The whole experience was very professional, friendly and relaxed and I would definitely recommend. At my second eye operation I had the same experience. The operations were very quick. Many thanks again for your great work!

To say I was terrified before the surgery would be understating it. On arrival I was met by a friendly team of receptionists who quickly put me at my ease. The whole procedure was friendly, polite and very quick. I will certainly not be frightened when the other eye is done.

I visited initially for a pre-assessment, another assessment in January, then finally for an operation in February. Each time everyone was warm, friendly, accommodating and professional. All staff introduced themselves and made me feel at ease. The waiting rooms were clean with free tea, coffee, water and biscuits available. The toilets were spotless. I am more than happy to return for my 2nd operation.

Cataract surgery - every stage explained, care shown throughout, a series of steps to reassure (e.g. the risk of operating on the wrong eye minimised by being repeatedly asked the question ). It feels slick here but with the right level of care and compassion.

The whole experience was first class. The Truro premises are modern and clean. Everyone is treated with respect, whether an NHS or private patient. (I was NHS.) All staff were friendly and went about their business in a highly professional manner. If you require cataract surgery and you are offered Spa Medica, Truro, I am extremely happy to strongly recommend the service.

Every one was very helpful and polite. They really helped you through a difficult time when you weren’t sure of what would happen. I would recommend without hesitation this practice for its professional care of those who came for this procedure and the after care. Thank you very much for helping me see so clearly.

The staff were friendly, professional & efficient in a relaxed environment & atmosphere. Each stage on the appointment was handled I a very efficient way but the staff had time for you as an individual.
