Need contraception after GP told to wait 4 weeks. Number doesn’t even work when ringing! What use is that for wigan and Leigh

told me to come back in a week to get the morning after pill as they only offer it on tuesdays and I had an exam the nearest tuesday at 3pm

You first have to speak with a doctor who you don’t see at your appointment. Doctor or nurse who you see at appointment doesn’t really know anything that doctor on phone, reasks you all the same things, no good if you’re going back two or three times to get to the bottom of something as they will restart from start doing same tests you had just weeks prior. Have to go back to the phone doctor everytime, then back to the others, absolute shambles no one knows what’s going on. On the phone to reception in a wait queue, hung up after one hour and a half, Friday afternoon think reception just can’t be bothered. Basically if you need an std test this is the place for you anything more complicated than swabs this service is not for you. They need to have atleast one gynocologist working possibly even a dermatologist for genital skin issues and several doctors who are on the ball. Who don’t need to act like I have Bv every time I go even tho bv is not being picked up on swabs it should say this on their computer why are they wasting their own and my time talking me through bv prevention *eye roll* Anyone can look up bv or thrush prevention and advice online, if I’m making the effort to come out to you the problem is likely past that. They need doctors more on the ball, who have more in-depth sexual health knowledge and Instead of starting from the start every visit they need to have more faith in their patients and actually listen to them and trust what they’re saying. It’s so patronising & exhausting. Also no facilities for laser :/ poor do really.

I was unable to get through to speak to a receptionist to book an appointment or discuss my options. I was on hold for 1 hour and 55 minutes before I gave up.
