    Attended a blood test at St Andrews Billericay , Had mentioned that I had a needle phobia so my partner attended with me, the phlebotomist didn't speak to us when we entereded the cubicle proceeded to do the blood test, and when changing the phail she pushed the new phail it onto the canula thus pushing the needle deeper into my arm which caused me a great deal of pain that I called out. This incident has certainly not helped with my phobia more training needs to be given to the staff into how to take blood giving assurances to the patient and with minimal discomfort . I will not be going there again !!

    The phlebotomist was great, and explained the process was being followed to the letter. The needle went in and after not too long two phials were extracted. Then just as the third and final was about to be filled, she was interrupted with a question I didn't hear. My back was to the person interrupting and she was female, local accent, probably over 30. This took about a minute and by the time the third phial was attached there was no flow and the phlebotomist had to search and poke around making a new hole in a vein. There was no enduring physical harm, but a corrective action is needed to improve security at St. Andrews. No idea if it was staff or a member of the public causing unnecessary pain, risk and delay.

    I attend the blood taking service on a regular basis. There has been no receptionist for years, leaving the phlebotomists to attempt to take blood and man the reception desk. Today I waited around 15 minutes standing in corridor to be checked in. About 8 people in queue with me, many with sticks and unable to stand for so long. In addition the building is in a dreadful state - hardly the setting for a healthcare service. Open cleaning cupboard next to reception is dreadfully dirty, walls scuffed everywhere. Please can the head of this service come and look at the state it is in. The phlebotomists are lovely but I feel for them having to work in this environment.

    Just echoing previous reviews, I rang from 08:30 - 15:00 a total of 53 times and no one picked up the phone. I'll now have to take time off work to go there personally to book my X-ray, very frustrating.

    Be kind - you don’t know what people are going through in their life. Especially at a blood test centre you would assume to work there you would understand peoples struggles & worries. Some people skills training needed here - For the receptionist & the phlebotomist that I saw. Not the first time I’ve experienced this here, hence this review. Rudeness is so unnecessary & can make a huge difference to someone’s day. Hopefully they read this & start being nice to everyone that comes to this blood test centre!

    I attended the hospital for a blood test admittely I had my blood test out of area as I work in billicray.i found the receptionist very rude and arrogant also the person who took my blood was abrupt and rude.i was told as I had my blood test out of area after the person who took my blood they shouldn't have taken my blood test there and I would have to wait at least 6weeks for my result.I so hope my blood test don't come back life or death is this good practice.i work for the NHS myself

    After 5 days of calling Basildon Hospital to try and get an x ray with no luck - I called and spoke to a lovely person who immediately looked up availability and booked me in. Thank you.

    Called to book chest X-ray after spending several hours trying to get through to Basildon MSK dept. Call answered promptly and X-ray booked within one minute by a delightful lady. Thank you

    No-one is there to answer phone. It cuts off after a standard no of rings each time. Poor Poor service. (I'm not blaming staff but the Health Service needs a huge shake up.)
