Review titled Excellent podiatry services
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 April 2024
I have seen a young male podiatrist several times for a persistent and painful corn on my toe which he is now recommending for surgical removal. The podiatrist I saw at the St Johns Therapy Centre is most professional, does a very thorough job and explains everything in detail beforehand. He is excellent and a real asset to the centre.

Review titled Rude and unhelpful receptionist
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 01 November 2023
I went to collect some hearing aid batteries on Fri 27 October. There were 2 receptionists both using computers. I was ignored for quite some time until finally one receptionist glared at me and in a very rude way said Yes? No smile, or good morning or can I help. I explained I wanted batteries. She asked the size. I explained they were new hearing aids and I couldn't remember the ref. no. and didn't have an empty packet with me . She said she couldn't give me any without knowing the size. I stood there and she grabbed a large box full of packs of batteries and held it out for me as if to say See?. I said: Could you open a box please and show me the batteries because I will recognise them from the packaging. Reluctantly she opened one box. They were not the right batteries. She opened another one and I said that is the correct battery. She asked how many hearing aids I had. I said 2 and she gave me three packets. I thanked her and she just glared at me without speaking and continued to glare until I turned away and left. This woman was gratuitously rude and unhelpful and if I had been in any way vulnerable I am certain I would have left without being supplied with batteries since it was only my request for her to open the boxes that resulted in me being given any. Both receptionists need some customer training at the very least and should be made aware of the impact they have on people coming to them with legitimate requests.

Review titled Poor patient care
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Lee Roots - Posted on 04 August 2023
I took my 81 year old mother for an x-ray at the Health Centre today. She is very slow and wobbly when walking with a stick and I walked her right in to the x-ray room, supporting her. I then walked back to the waiting area, a short distance away. A few minutes later, I heard the x-ray room door bang, so went to look. I found my mother teetering just outside the door, not that far from falling over. The radiographer had clearly just opened the door, watched her teeter out, and then shut the door behind her. I knocked on the door and pointed out to the radiographer that surely they could see that my mother was frail and near to falling over, even with her stick. Even if they did not want to support her themselves they could have called me rather than merely shutting the door behind and washing their hands of her. The radiographer immediately accused me of being 'offensive' for making this observation. I could not believe that not only did they have no empathy or care for a elderly patient, their immediate response to someone pointing out a problem was to turn things around so thaf they were the aggrieved party, even though the comment was made calmly and rationally. This demonstrates that they have zero ability to accept any kind of criticism or indeed the ability to see that that their lack of care and empathy was hardly appropriate for a medical professional and could very easily have resulted in a fall.
