Thank you to the Acad unit area 4 MRI /Radiology team. Attended 27/06. Check in by friendly reception staff, then moved swiftly through to MRI scanner where staff were professional/friendly and efficient service was provided. Felt relaxed and secure in their hands. Great service. Thank you.

Attended on time for day surgery unit endoscopy admission, no reception staff available. Spoke to nurse working nearby who advised I should sit and wait, appointment time passed, I was getting anxious that no one had checked me in and therefore didn't know I was there. 30 mins after appointment time, I approached same nurse who was surly and bordering on rude and fed up that I was again asking for assistance, her words "this is the second time I have told you to sit down and wait" she failed to understand that no one knew I was there and I was worried about being missed off surgery operating list. I understand it was not the nurse's job, but having travelled long distance I would have been marked as a "did not attend". I eventually found another more understanding nurse who listened and understood I was due for a surgical procedure, took me through and I was duly booked in. The anxiety I was experiencing right before a surgical procedure could have been avoided if a reception staff member for endoscopy day surgery area had been manning the desk. First poor experience at this hospital, but proper manning of day admission area could have resolved this.
