Review titled Wonderful staff-appalling for those with mobility issues
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Georgina - Posted on 05 August 2024
Took my Mum for her Retinal screen appt today. Nowhere to park at all and chaos on the car park so dropped her at the door (adding to the parking chaos) and went to park on TKMaxx. She has mobility issues. The retinal screen clinic is on floor 2 and a long walk from the entrance. We passed another struggling lady slowly making her way to the same clinic. Mum had to stop twice for a rest on her walking frame. There were no wheelchairs to be had anywhere. Once at the clinic she needed the loo. The toilet has no mobility handles and was low. Not only was she physically exhausted she had her dignity and independence squashed as she then needed assistance to use the loo. In total I witnessed 3 struggling ladies who found the length of walk to the clinic too much for them. When the clinic is mostly attended by people who are pensioners or with health issues why on earth is it so far from the entrance? To cap it all when we left I had to leave her waiting outside while I spent an age retrieving the car and traversing half of Burnley because you can no longer turn right at the new traffic system. Thank goodness she wasn’t sat out in the rain! This building is not a suitable place to hold appts for older people with mobility issues. On a positive note- the lady who did the slit lamp test is the most lovely of kind and caring people. I cannot praise her highly enough.

Review titled Excellent Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by ANNETTE ROBINSON - Posted on 10 November 2023
I have recently visited the audiology department on several occasions over the last 2 weeks with my elderly father's hearing aids. Advancing years and frustration has led him to damage his hearing aids repeatedly. The staff in audiology have been excellent and very sympathetic and have gone to great lengths to ensure the aids were mended and reserviced and returned to him extremely quickly. Its nice to give very positive comments when there is so much negativity surrounding the NHS services. Eternally grateful and I'm sure I'll be seeing you again soon. Thank you so much for going the extra mile.

Review titled Amazing Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Paul Hunting - Posted on 07 August 2023
On 7th August 2023, I telephoned St. Peter's audiology department because I couldn't get the hearing aid for my right ear to work despite changing the battery and a clean earpiece. I left my hearing aids at St. Peter's Burnley and one hour later or slightly less I received a phone call to collect my hearing aids. My right ear hearing now works perfectly. I asked if the audiologist could look at my ear piece for my left ear and the lady sorted that for me as well. The receptionist receptionists were really friendly and helpful as well. Absolutely amazing service and I'm really pleased. Thank you
