  1. Review titled crisis line not answered

Rated 1 star out of 5

I was told by the crisis line to ring my gp, then gave me another crisis number to ring, they promised call back, 16 hours later no call back, always the same. Crisis line just makes the crisis worse

  2. Review titled Discharged when at my lowest

by Ashley Knight - Posted on 14 May 2024

Had a visit today to say I have been discharged from LMHT when I am not doing any better. Feel like they have just given up on me. There are some fantastic people that work for the service but I’ve had numerous problems with them and I really don’t want to give a review to a stretched nhs, but I’m really really struggling.

My son has been with Rushcliffe mental health team since 2022, he has been discharged today due to him not being able to do the care plan of him going for a walk every day , when he hasn't even been able to go out side, he wants to do this over a period of time, building it up each week, now he has been left with no support at all from lmht , which has now left him feeling whats the point, very disappointed with the care he has or hasn't been given .

  4. Review titled So disappointed

Rated 1 star out of 5

I had an assessment with the lmht in December, the assesment went well, I felt it was thorough and was promised psychological intervention. I have a plethora of complex issues and getting help has been a struggle but I was hopeful. A couple of weeks later I received a letter advising I'd been passed to mind for some group work (I'm agoraphobic and very anxious so can't leave the house) I tried to contact the lmht and was promised a call back on multiple occasions, I never received a call back. I spoke to mind who advised their service is unsuitable for me as they aren't professionals and focus on meditation etc rather than the intensive psychological care I require/ expected. Today I called the lmht again only to be told I had been discharged from their service 3 weeks ago and I would have to speak to my doctor to get referred again . I was given no explanation surrounding my discharge and I explained to the receptionist that I'm very mentally ill at the moment and really need to speak to someone to understand why this has happened. He told me he'd "leave a note" but I probably wouldn't hear back from anyone. I'm absolutely devastated as this was really the only thing keeping me going and I don't know where to go from here. Avoid this service if you can, it really is shambolic.

  5. Review titled Communication issues causing me distress.

by barnabusthefirst - Posted on 30 October 2023

This is the second time using this service and the second time I've been severely let down. I know the NHS is going through a lot right now but there is absolutely no excuse for this level of ineptitude I feel I have experienced. I had my initial appointment with the CPN at the beginning of September. This actually went well and I felt my trust was reinstated with the service. The CPN then said they was going to meet with the board of mental health professionals a week later and then because they were on duty all day the day of the meeting we agreed to follow up the next available work day. okay, I said yes then they said they would call in the afternoon - this was all witnessed by my partner as well. So the day, two weeks after our initial meeting comes and it gets to around 16:45pm and I call reception and they said my CPN had been in meetings all day and could still ring - they didn't. I gave it another couple of days and rang reception around midday, the staff said there had been notes put on the system and I would be called the following week. There was no mention of this when I called previously. I wondered if the notes had been put on after I had been enquiring so I rang reception again to confirm. So I rang again at around 1650 and the receptionist I spoke to I found to be just plain rude and dismissive, I didn't get their name but I did not apreciate their attitude - again my partner was a witness as I was on speaker phone. I decided to email that evening, who - after my first dealing with this service - said to contact them if any more issues arise. I wanted to withdraw from the service as it was really putting me into a meltdown. They replied in the morning and said they passed it on to the clinical lead. That afternoon the CPN rang me, I missed the call but they left me a message. They spoke as if nothing had happened, no apology, nothing. It's now been over six weeks and I've received zero correspondence. Not even a mention of my supposed treatment plan, not even an apology, not even a confirmation of my withdrawal from the service; although I feel forced to do so due to such incompetence and its effects on my mental health. How ironic is it that the service that is supposed to help me actually does the opposite? I am appalled at this abhorrent service and it's high time they either close down or sort themselves out. You are causing serious harm and I don't feel like they care.

  6. Review titled Rushcliffe CMHT

by MatthewB - Posted on 20 July 2023

I have been under the CMHT since around June 2022, this is when I was assessed as needing support following my former CPN in Leicestershire trying to transfer my case. It was recommended that I see a staff member who is training to be a counsellor. They were supposed to give me counselling sessions to process the trauma I had been through in my life and develop strategies to improve my management of my mental health condition. There have been a total of 29 arranged appointments, they have cancelled 16. 7 weeks in a row the moment with no communication from the CMHT since the end of May. I understand the worker is off sick, I have been told to call the duty worker but whenever I call nobody answers and I do not feel a therapist can be replaced with an unknown duty worker who isn’t a therapist or training to be one. I would like to be assessed by a psychologist as I feel my mental health condition is worse than the CMHT believes it to be. My GP told me I need to speak to the CMHT but I don’t have anyone overseeing my care or aware of who I would speak to, in other counties I’ve had a consultant who I could discus’s medications and these types of requests with. My mental health has taken a sharp decline and I’ve had active suicidal thoughts and plans My GP has given me a sick note from work for 4 weeks but I do not feel any better after 2 weeks off. The work with the CMHT has bought all my trauma to the surface but due to inconsistencies in appointments, lack of knowledge by the worker and cancelled appointments - I feel I have been left in a worse place than when I started and now I feel like absolute rubbish. I spent a very long time being abused everyday for 11 years, I just want help to process that and how to live a healthier life than I have since I escaped it.

  7. Review titled Access to specialist depression service

by OldBat - Posted on 27 June 2023

I have long-term treatment-resistant depression, I've attempted suicide and spent two periods in psychiatric units of 4.5 months and 1 month. I've been stable on isocarboxazid for 3 years, prescribed by a psychiatrist at Nottingham's Specialist Depression Service. Recently I've started to feel depressed again, the GP referred me to Rushcliffe Local Mental Health Team (LMHT) for onward referral to the Specialist Depression Service (who can take ex-service user's on for short periods to adjust meds etc.). The GP did this because isocarboxazid is rarely used nowadays and has many interactions with other meds, and affects metabolisation of certain foods, therefore should be prescribed or dosage altered by a specialist psychiatrist. I had an assessment call from someone at Rushcliffe Local Mental Health Team LMHT who refused to listen to me and said the GP can alter the dosage, and refused to take me onto their service. They were so rude to me that I suffered an autistic meltdown and was unable to work for the rest of the day. So I went back to the GP who consulted with a senior partner - who agreed that a GP should not alter dosage of isocarboxazid and that I should see the Specialist Depression Service., so they've referred me back to Rushcliffe LMHT. I'm dreading another assessment call like the last one. I have no confidence that I or my GP will be listened to, and as the LMHT are the gatekeepers to the service that I need, I worry that by the time I can access the specialist psychiatrist my mental health will have deteriorated significantly again, costing the NHS much more for my care, potentially risking my life and definitely putting my ability to work and earn enough to survive at risk. Also I'm the carer for my wife, who's a wheelchair user, so I'm terrified of becoming unable to care for her. I've been similarly let down by LMHTs in the past - Gedling LMHT refused to believe the Specialist Depression Service existed, delaying my referral by over 7 months and directly leading to my second stay in a psychiatric unit. I hope that doesn't happen this time as it's taken me 6 years to recover from that experience and return to full health and earn a living again. But I'm terrified that it'll happen again.

  8. Review titled also discharged at my lowest

Rated 1 star out of 5

by ben - Posted on 30 May 2024

My experience with the Rushcliffe Mental Health Team was extremely disappointing and distressing. During their visits to my home, they brought up past traumas without proper training or sensitivity, causing me to become overwhelmed. When things started to deteriorate, they seemed to wash their hands of the situation. During what I later realized was a discharge appointment, they failed to communicate this clearly, leaving me to unravel emotionally as I relived past events and struggled to cope with various aspects of my life. Despite my obvious distress, they showed little empathy or understanding, lacking even basic knowledge such as proper breathing techniques. What's particularly disheartening is that with proper care and attention, they could have prevented much of the suffering that followed this event. Their negligence and lack of support only exacerbated the challenges I faced in my mental health journey. I was left alone with nobody to turn to other than the crisis team, further highlighting their abandonment of their duty to provide adequate care. Moreover, it's alarming that they prescribed interventions like work assistance and Mind UK, even though I was essentially a danger to myself and others in that state. This demonstrates a lack of understanding of the severity of my condition and a disregard for my safety

  9. Review titled Ignored

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been without a cpn since before Christmas. My old cpn told me he was leaving and i didn't need a new one the morning after I came out of hospital following an attempt to end my life. Emails to the manager have been totally ignored. I have no safety plan in place and have told them I don't feel safe. I am left feeling no one cares if I live or die provided they have ticked the right boxes on the right forms
