Review titled Awful service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by tracy brown - Posted on 01 February 2024
Contacted the service for help. Had an initial telephone assessment then nothing. It's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard a thing. Assessor said she would call me within a week. My mental health has declined considerably since the call and I've had no help or support. Absolutely pointless service!!

I was told by my GP to do a self-referral to this service a long time ago. I felt a bit fobbed off so I didn't do it until I reached peak desperation in November 2023. I was initially impressed when they gave me an assessment within a week, with a person who seemed very patient and understanding. 3 months later... I've not heard a single thing from them. I do however now see lots of ads on social media about this self referral service on the NHS, stating it's instant, no long waiting lists. What a joke. I wish I'd checked reviews here before wasting my time hoping for help.

Had a therapist who was in training , loads of cancelled appointments or would change such short notice because of training, or illness and I was left waiting on a zoom meeting only for me to email to find out due to illness. Therapist left now haven’t had any sessions for 2 weeks, I have a Asd Child so I have explained numerous times my schedule and my routine, the therapy 4you plus team should have got back and I landed chasing as I really need those sessions right now. I waited over a year for this now to be left with nothing till someone can see me, my anxiety with new people and relationships bonding is stressing me out, it’s a shambles the system. Maybe monitor the trainees more and look at their schedule if they have patients booked in and not cancel last minute, also the score qu air take in to consideration people might get confused if dyslexic additional needs, my scores was still the same after 12 sessions only because we went over them. Mental health is not a joke and you treat us patients as the Jokers!!!

Review titled Not treated like A Human

Have an 18 year old Son with severe depression anxiety issues and attempted suicide. Last week's appointment cancelled and booked for this week. He had to take a day off school to attend and No one turned up. He was not allowed to see the Councillor who was there, his one had gone sick but not one person thought to tell him he waitied nearly 2 hours and kwpt asking. Have they any idea how traumatic this is for an ASD teen who suffers anxiety and now 2 weeks with no one. They said a manager would be able to talk to him and all he got was someone who said it wasn't her staff member and to wait til Monday. Disgusting no care at all no call yet today.

Pre Covid I was using the Therapy for You service. After several sessions the therapist told me she thought I needed a different type of therapy as cbt was not working and was told she whould have to put me onto another waiting list to see a specialist. A year later I was told I had been taken off the list but no one could tell me why. They offered to put me back on the t4u list but had to put me back at the start. About a month ago I finally got my first new appiontment. The therapist did not know about my previous sessions so began cbt again. 2nd session, I was having a particularly bad day, had gone through days of particularly bad insomnia but this had finally broken and I was falling asleep first the first time in days. I contacted t4u to cancel the session. My therapist did not get the message and still called me, waking me up. I cancelled that appointment. We scheduled the next session for 2 weeks time. That would be last wednesday. Wednesday. No one called. I waitied. No call all day. No missed calls. I email t4u. I get a reply saying "We are sorry you missed your recent appointment/s and were unable to let us knowbeforehand. You have now been discharged from our service." I had not missed any appointments without notice.
