It feels impossible to get help at this surgery. I called at 8am to book as is policy, and for 30 minutes the call wouldn’t connect as the line was ‘busy’. I couldn’t even get into the queue to try and get through. I searched online to see if I could book there - nothing available. I called a few hours later and managed to get through and was told all appointments for the day had been taken and I should call back at 8am the next day. I mentioned that I had tried several times that morning with no luck. The receptionist told me to submit a ‘patches’ online which I had already done, and told me it would take 48 hours to get a response. I’m in a lot of pain and discomfort right now, so waiting around for 48 hours isn’t really an option. When I said I needed help more urgently than that, she told me with a very rude tone ‘well we’re not an emergency line’. The lack of compassion from a provider who is supposed to have a duty of care, not to mention how difficult it is to simply book an appointment, is unprofessional and frustrating. I would add, I am type 1 diabetic which means infections and illnesses can be more serious for me. I dread to think how elderly or vulnerable people cope with this practice. I’m so disappointed.
