  1. Review titled Rude and judgemental

Vita health is rude, judgemental and Do not respond to complaints. I had an assesment with an advisor who basically panned me off with drugs counselling when I don't even have a drug problem. Totally unfit for purpose. They just want to shorten waiting lists. Been over 3 months no response to my complaint. They also took more than 30 days for my SAR request so that is being reported to the information commissioner

  2. Review titled Not fit for purpose

by Richard Reay - Posted on 09 August 2024

I have had a protracted fight with them since being referred by my GP in March 2024. As someone who has been through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy previously I knew that this wasn't an approach that would work for me as I have been dealing with clinical depression for 23 years. I was given an appointment for a phone assessment which lasted just 45 minutes where the assessor agreed with me that CBT would not be a suitable treatment as my issues are complex and include trauma due to being the victim of domestic abuse for a decade. However, even though the assessor and their supervisor both agreed that CBT was not the way forward, one week later I received a call telling me that I was being put on a course of CBT that was to be administered via Microsoft Teams, not only that but I would be attending with 12-15 other patients. What followed was a frankly lazy session with someone who refused 4-6 times to acknowledge that they were not a qualified Clinical Psychologist when asked directly. The session involved this person in their living room reading a powerpoint presentation to everyone. I called back to Vita Health and asked to be referred for appropriate therapy only to have them refuse until I made an official complaint and got their CEO involved. After 2 months of back and forth and arguing my case with uninterested and frankly rude staff, I was finally referred to another NHS Service where I have spent 5 hours being assessed by a psychiatrist and have now been put forwards for a 2 year long course of therapy. On top of all of this, which caused me to bottom out completely forcing me to stop working, Vita Health do not record the sex of the patient, at all. Instead they ask for your "gender identity" which I do not have, nor do I believe even exists. Vita Health also put false information into my medical records which I am now fighting to have corrected, which is not going well at all and it looks like I will have to get the Information Commissioner's Office involved. Vita Health group employs no Clinical Psychologists, nor Psychiatrists (that is what they told me) so I have no idea why they are in charge of Gatekeeping access to mental health provision in the North East of England. The NHS needs to end their contract and provide mental health service access themselves.

Self referred.. then having an appointment i was told i would have to explain in detail my problem. I have been to a sister service and had to repeat in detail what had been said before. After an hour i was then told i would be referred to another service as the person i had been assigned was not qualified to help me.i have heard nothing from the" other service " I have tried to contact vita via the website and have received no response.. i will not recommend Vita .
