Review titled Disappointed to have to wait so long to see a counci
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Larraine Jean Beck - Posted on 12 January 2025
I had 8 sessions with a step 3 councillor but it didn't work so I was told that I needed to go to step step 4. I was assessed for this and then was told that I would have to wait for a year and s half to see someone. I asked if I could see another councillor in step 3. 8 more sessions may of really helped me but I was told this wasn't possible. I am devastated as I really need help.now. it made me feel that vitamins really do not understand the people they are trying to help. If you have councillors waiting in step 3 willing to help.people why are you notgiving them to them. If the waiting time is year and half for step 4 there cannot be enough staff which is a real problem for the company. That is a very bad service for people who need counselling.

I referred myself for this service as a last result as I don’t know what to do I had an hour speaking with someone poured my heart out begging for help I felt like they was not listening or interested in what I was saying it felt lithe person speaking to me was reading questions out of a book like a robot I told her i really need counselling and discussed the options I told the I have tried cbt before and I couldn’t do what they asked as my mental health was really lol and told them I need counselling not cbt she she will talk to her supervisor and ring me back in a week I got a phone call today saying they can offer me cbt so she was obviously not listening to a word I said when we last spoke it’s so frustrating when you get people who don’t understand what your going through it’s actually made my anxiety worse don’t know what to do really bad service please avoid bad service

Review titled Miserable place dipple medical Center
Rated 1 star out of 5

A complete waste of my time because I’m over 70. I’ve got a phone call from this organisation by saying that she was a mental health professional and because of my health history to do with mental health she’s advising me to have an appointment over at this medical Centre, I did this because I’m always looking for further insight, I went the lady I don’t think she was a full trained nurse Knew very little about how mental health problems occur and I had to inform her plus the fact it cost me £30 in cab fares to go A complete waste of time and the NHS money steer clear of Vita.

Review titled Not great

I had an experience with VitaMinds counselling because I reached out for my struggles with ocd. The experience was ok. As per iapt, you can only become a cbt therapist, so that is what I had. It was slightly helpful with challenging me to reduce my rituals that are caused by my ocd, but there was an overall lack of empathy on part of the counsellor. I felt as though we had to stick to a set structure even if I was upset about something that specific day, for example when I got upset reflecting on something that had happened, there seemed to be a lack of warmth from the counsellor. I was reminded that I only have x amount of sessions left, so its best to move onto more challenging aspects of my ritual, when I did not feel prepared to. This left me feeling flustered, unheard and overall upset. I have a background in the mental health field and I'm currently training to be a Psychotherapist (which I would recommend the nhs look into hiring more of eg bacp, ukcp counsellors and psychotherapists). There is a clear cut contrast. The constant forms you have to fill out each week become tiresome and not reflective of how an individual is truly feeling. Despite this, I did have empathy for my counsellor, as I understand you have to work within the system you are working in. However, the sour taste left in my mouth didn't really come from my 6 sessions of cbt; it was at the end. I was informed that we are asked to give feedback once we finish counselling; that I will be emailed a link. However, my counsellor then said or 'we can do it together now'. I felt that this was strange as how could I give true feedback to their face? I said yes I will do the feedback if they send me a link and then he proceeded to ask me the questions. I felt pressured to answer so I did and I do not feel this is appropriate. I didn't have a chance to reflect and be honest about my experience, and instead was led to give a more positive and untruthful review. For a long time I pushed it to the back of my mind, as I didn't want to "kick up a fuss". But as I have been in training myself, I have reflected on how this experience still impacts me today. How I feel that I deserve a chance to say my peace, which is why I have written this review today.
