Review titled Wonderful Ambulance Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mrs Kate Walden - Posted on 14 March 2025
I wanted to contact you to tell you about the paramedics who responded to my neighbours' 999 call on Tuesday 11th March at 10am. My neighbour (aged 79) was very confused and presented at my door 16 Ashdale Close DE15 9HN with his phone saying 999. He was complaining of chest pains and breathing irratically. My daughter and I were very worried. The paramedics were wonderful. They quickly started observations and monitored for some time to be sure what to do for him. They took great care to reassure us. They were kind, caring, considerate and so professional, and also took the time to explain what and why they were taking certain actions. Our neighbour was taken to A & E at Burton Queens where other care began. I cannot thank the 2 paramedics enough- we couldn't have received better service or support at such a difficult time. Please tell them and their boss how wonderful they are at their jobs.

Please convey my thanks to the 2 Paramedics who attended me at my home in Eccleshall on September 1st. I rang 999 at 8am & the ambulance arrived before 8-30 After completing the checks they very patiently persuaded me to go to Royal Stoke where I was found to have a perforated bowel I could not have asked for more kindness & gentleness. Again my profound gratitude Ann Walker

Review titled Delayed treatment - more pain
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 29 August 2024
Twice now, I’ve called 111 in chronic pain & had ambulances cancelled by other agencies (including ambulance control). Three days of a cocktail of pain killers that don’t help. Today, ambulance control cancelled an ambulance with a promise of a GP call 3hours later but actually it happened 6hours later & it wasn’t face to face as I couldn’t physically drive to the appointment. New & increased pain medication 9hours later with a hope that I won’t feel the need to call for help for a third call with unbearable pain.

Review titled Bad experience

This is not a dig at the hard workers on the front, but the woman who called me back from dispatch, 4 hours after our initial call... My wife is now in A&E with suspected appendicitis and the GP at our practice is not happy with the treatment we got from dispatch. I'll be writing a formal complaint as the dispatch person decided we didn't need an ambulance and didn't send one out. My wife can hardly walk because of the pain she is in.

Review titled First class response and service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by John - Posted on 15 February 2024
I have recently had the misfortune to call out paramedics on three separate occasions following breathing difficulties. On each occasion the response was incredibly quick. The manner in which I was dealt with was professional, calming and I was told precisely what was happening and the treatment I received. The crews were friendly, and so reassuring in what we're particularly frightening episodes for me.
