    I am on Universal Credits. I went to Damira dentists in Penge as a NHS patient because of tooth pain. They told me during the first consultation that I needed a root canal treatment, They gave me antibiotics prescription and booked another appointment For the Root canal treatment. The Dentist I saw next Said that, My root Canal treatment is complicated and that I needed a specialist ( she meant Endodontic), She said she is a general dentist and that she can’t do root canal treatments ( why did they book the appointment with the wrong dentist?!!) she proceeded to tell me that root Canal treatment was not available on the NHS and that My only option with the NHS service is tooth extraction. However, She told me that she will refer me to another branch of the company that has this speciality which will cost £150 for consultation and about £500+ for the root canal treatment and another £500+ for a crown, she also said that she recommends to save another two of my teeth to have the root canal treatment and crowns. I told her that I can’t afford them as I have no income for the moment, She simply said I could have everything done with their Finance. I felt like I went into sales pitch not NHS dental service for people who can’t afford private Dentist’s prices. Huge disappointment!
