  1. Review titled Strange hidden costs

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 January 2025

They have hidden fees included in their practice that they do not tell patients about, I have been with this dental practice from 2022 to 2024. Today when I call to schedule an appointment they say that I have to pay 50 pounds for missing a previous appointment. I was not told when I registered nor at any point when scheduling my appointments that I would incur a 50 pound fee for missing an appointment and cannot book future appointments till I pay the fee. This is a fee I was not told off when registering, booking appointments, rescheduling appointments, not on the NHS website and no where to be seen on the information pinboard at their dental practice. I was aware that you can lose a paid deposit if you miss an appointment but was never told that you have to pay 50 pounds if you haven't paid a deposit. They are not transparent with their patients and seem to add on whatever charge they see fit, whenever they see fit. Very strange way to conduct themselves when under the NHS. I have suggested that moving forward they inform patients about the 50 pounds fee, when they register. It's very unfortunate they feel that they can monopolise and treat patients like this only because they're the only dental care in Guildford accepting NHS patients at the moment.

  2. Review titled Rude receptionist

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 May 2024

My partner phoned for an emergency appointment as an NHS patient. He had fallen off their list as an NHS patient and he would have to pay private fees before being accepted as an NHS patient again. My partner is on universal credit, makes no difference, he still has to pay, which is impossible for us. We are not alone in this experience, such is NHS Dentistry at the moment. My issue is the incredibly rude attitude of the receptionist. She lacked basic levels of politeness and zero empathy. I was registered there too, probably also deregistered since Covid and won't be back.

  3. Review titled Highly recommended

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have been going to this dentist for many years now. It's always been an efficient and reliable service. I've just had some work done to close some small gaps between my front teeth where the gums had receded. The dentist has done an excellent job and built up the tooth on either side of the gap with white composite filling, matching the colour of my teeth. You can't see which is tooth and which is the composite - it looks completely natural and I'm delighted with it. It's obviously a highly skilled process and he did a great job.

I have been going to this practice for the last 16 years and have found the staff very friendly and helpful. I get a good service every time I attend.
