It’s thanks to this particular practice in August 2019 that I refuse to go anywhere near NHS dentists now and always go private even if means spending every last penny I have for the month. I went in with pain that I was 99% sure was from an infection/abscess but the extremely judgemental and unprofessional “dentist” had already decided that because I’m a smoker, she’s not going to treat me properly and look into the issues I was having. Sat there and told me I was in excruciating pain because I was a smoker and “just need to start flossing”. Exactly 12 hours later I’ve woken up early hours of the morning because the whole left side of my face had swollen up so much that I could breath out of my nostril and ended up having to spend more money to go to a private dentist in Selly oak - which I have to say have far better treatment just from walking into the reception area than this dentist has given the entire time I’ve been there If you’re going to judge someone based on bad/addictive habits they have then you should never step foot in a healthcare setting!! Beyond unprofessional and again, I don’t feel safe or like I will be in good, trusting hands going to any NHS Dentist now, because it’s not just me who’s fallen victim to judgemental people in these settings that treat you like you’re beneath them because of your choices with your own body. Many of my friends and family and customers in the healthcare setting I work have also fallen victim. I could never dream of judging and treating my patients so abysmally.

I've been attending this practice for the best part of 40 years and I've seen a lot of dentists during this time. I have always found the treatment to be good, but I wanted to highlight a particular dentist who I feel has exceeded my expectations. Unfortunately I am unable to name the dentist within this review, but I was recently assigned to him after my previous dentist left the practice. From the moment he got involved he has been very thorough and I genuinely felt like he had my best interests at heart. He advised on several problem areas and set up a treatment plan that had to be amended a couple of times, due to additional issues or alternative ways of solving the problems. My new dentist has a polite and caring manner and the quality of his work has been fantastic. I would highly recommend the practice and the specific dentist.
