Review titled No care for patients
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Shea Taylor - Posted on 30 August 2024
Had been going to this dentist for a long time, even got my braces there (which took them 7 years and about 6 years to decide I needed them just before I turned 18, then was often told it was my fault they took so long but that's another story), hadn't been in a long time due to covid, got a chip in my tooth so called them up to book an appointment, to be told I had been taken off there books (with no communication from them until I called them) thankfully they booked me in for an appointment (had to wait a year for said appointment), went to my first appointment and had a check up, was told I'd need quite a bit doing, but asked if I could wait until next month due to being low on money. They booked me in, unfortunately I missed this one appointment due to emergency at work with a client (I work in domiciliary care). Called up to apologise and explain and asked if I could rearrange, then was very rudely and bluntly told "no". Asked so I can't book another appointment? Again just "no." Asked if I can in the future and again just "no." When I asked why I was told due to my past attendance (to a place I used to go to over 5 years ago). Called back a day later and was told the manager was "off sick". Called a couple of days later to be told the manager will call me back. Got the call and was told because I am classed as "new patient" and I've missed my first treatment appointment they've dropped me. I explained why, but now although I am classed a "new patient" the situation is still being based on my past attendance. Felt like they were just trying to make it sound more reasonable that they would drop a patient so easily Fobbed off quite easily with seemingly no real care, sympathy or notice. Give you one chance to miss an appointment as a new patient, but will happily leave you waiting, asked me to just call 111 to see if there's any dentists taking on new patients knowing full well that will not be easy. Manager was condescending and unempathetic, never had a massive issue with the receptionist staff apart from they seem to chat a lot and leave you waiting. Its given me an overall bad opinion of the attitude behind the dentistry profession but hopefully when I eventually get booked in somewhere else they'll actually seem like they got into the job because they want to help patients

The are the best practice! The team are really friendly even though you can see how busy they are. The appointments are professional and on time. Would 100% recommend
