I registered with this dentist not by choice, but because it was the only practice in Cambridge accepting NHS patients at the time. Initially, the first couple of appointments went well. I always scheduled my check-ups at the end of my current appointment, ensuring same-day bookings. As both my young son (under 10) and I attended together, we needed back-to-back appointments, which often posed a problem for the practice. There were instances where they cancelled our appointments with very little notice, failing to call us to reschedule or provide an explanation. On two occasions, I showed up for appointments only to find they had shifted my time slot, with the notification emails ending up in my spam folder. A simple phone call would have prevented this inconvenience. Additionally, when I had a family emergency and needed to cancel an appointment with more than 48 hours' notice, their response was unsympathetic. Instead of understanding, they threatened that if I cancelled again, I would be removed from their list. Later, over a week before my scheduled appointment, I called from work to change the time slot, and they confirmed the change over the phone. However, I then received a rude email stating that we had been removed from their NHS list, despite my actions being within the cancellation notice period. It turned out that their receptionist had failed to update our appointment, leading to it being marked as a no-show. They didn't even call on the day to check on our absence, indicating a lack of concern about missed appointments. Moreover, I underwent several treatments that, as it turned out, were unnecessary, leaving me several hundred pounds out of pocket.
