    I had a wonderful experience. It was my first appointment in UK. I got the appointment immediately and the reception staff was so nice and explained about the charges and how to fill the online form. I was bit tensed but the dentist and dental nurse where so kind and polite. I had a filling on my lower teeth and it really reduced my pain and food impaction. I am very satisfied with this dental pratice

    Went today after 10 +years of not visiting a dentist due to a massive fear of dentists and all I can say is I was treat with total respect and the man I saw put me at total ease and wasn’t judgemental at all treatmant plan in place now I wish I plucked the courage up to go years ago.

    Pre first registration appt, I was sent an online form ( phone) to fill in , with incorrect name & address. I contacted the surgery to update this and contact details. At the surgery I asked about this online form, to which the receptionist claimed they don't do this. So as it contains confidential information, I was concerned. I had waited nearly 5/6 years for the nhs dental registration, as I was having many problems with my gums, teeth etc. The woman , a hygienist who turned out not to be dentist, There was another woman who claimed they were therapist. The first woman did a quick probe at my teeth,then took some (2)xrays. She was insisting on a Polish which I decline, as attention to my teeth was my priority. I was charged around £ 26.00 approx and I had still not seen by a dentist. The reception area was busy very chaotic , & disorganised. The receptionist then handed me a piece of paper , with receipt details of how to claim if on low benefits . She said she would talk to a dentist and call me back. I felt I had come to the wrong place. With 39 years NI, at work , now retired I felt very humiliated. If they were only doing NHS registration for benefit claimants , they should have made that clear in the first instance Finally what is the point of having your gums cleaned when your teeth are decaying and need attention in the first instance. I will call the dental clinic tomorrow to see if I do have a dentist.

    New dentist, as my previous dentist had left, I was booked in for my general checkup, which in the past, I'd always been given a scale and polish, which I didn't get, but instead they spent most of my appointment (which was running 20 minutes late), looking on the computer for an Hygienist appointment, which after a while they said that they will see me again, they told me to go to the receptionist to get another appointment booked, which they did, but still got charged £25+ and felt disappointed and cheated, as I felt that all they wanted was me in and out, being charged and now got to return, for what, I'm not too sure about!

    After waiting over 20 minutes after appointment time I went looking for someone, got a bit odd a shrug & told id be called. Someone finally came to upstairs reception, said it was now 30 minutes past our booked time. Was seen 45 minutes late teeth not touched, no regular scale & polish given a second appointment for a small white filling. Checked with receptionist said it wasn’t a white filling, she did know what it was I had to goggle it. Whatever has happened to this practice it was on this terrible this day. I am not sure I want to return.

    I have been attending this practice for almost 56 years but today was the worst ever experience. I saw a dentist who was hard selling treatments and totally contradicting the advice provided at an earlier consultation. If I hadn’t pressed for a scale and polish he wouldn’t have done one; this was always done as part of my check ups with the previous owners. The dentist still insisted I see the dental hygienist. The receptionist told me the hygienist would do a scale and polish which I’d just had - but for a further £44! What is going on with this practice? So disappointed.

    Once again this dentist was running late. I have seen him three times now and each time I have had to wait. Today, I waited for 30 minutes beyond my appointment time. He completed my treatment which took about five minutes and then informed me that he would not do this in future, because it was a waste of his time! This after my wasting considerable time on three occasions waiting for treatment! He seemed more willing to promote more expensive treatment. I stated that I did not want such treatment but that I wanted my tooth replacing whenever needed. This he refused to do and suggested I look for other dentists. I paid the helpful receptionist and cancelled my membership of this practice. I have been a patient here for 30 years and always received excellent treatment, until that dentist retired.

    I recently had a check up at Clarence road Dental, where i have previously been more than happy with a variety of treatments over many years. I was shocked on my recent visit (after waiting over 30 minutes) that a new dentist proceeded to carry out the examination without even using a dental probe, but blew air on my teeth - that was it - that was how he examined each tooth for new cavities or failing fillings. No examination of gum condition (not a pocket prob in sight) which is an integral part of a dental check up as stated on the NHS website under 'What will happen at your check-up'. What is going on Clarence road Dental? On reading other reviews, it appears several patients are less than happy with their treatment from a 'new dentist'. Patients will begin to loose confidence, and start asking to see one of the other dentists.

    Dear Anonymous Thank for your feedback. We would appreciate if you could give your name so that we can look into our records. Our new dentists are highly qualified and use high magnification loupes to provide a thorough examination and treatments. It is very highly unlikely that they would not use the standard tools for dental examination and as stated above we cannot look into your records as comment has been made anonymously. We have invested heavily in the latest dental equipment like dental scanners, digital xrays, electric handpieces , new dental chairs ,ipads for paperless documentations, etc which usually seen in high end private practices to provide highest standards of care. If you are worried and feel we cannot meet your expectations , we are very sorry and see another dentist.
