Review titled Thank You - really pleased you helped.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Nik P - Posted on 12 December 2024
I had tooth ache, but it was pain all along my jaw and up the side of my face and no obvious tooth causing it. I called without an appointment one morning and was seen, given antibiotics and an appointment booked. The practice didnt need to do this, but im so glad they did as the antibiotics did give me some early relief. I returned 5 days later for the appointment which was an early evening appointment that the dentist had instructed to be added for me. At that appointment the dentist took x rays, examined and shared his thought and treatment options. I decided to try and retain the tooth and opt for root canal treatment. The dentist explained the procedure, told me when I could rest my jaw during, asked me if I could feel anything as he worked on the tooth. He told me he could tell when I did have sensitivity from my eyes and asked me if I was feeling anything and he offered to top up the anaesthetic. He was thorough, taking a number of x-rays during the process. The whole time his assistants were excellent, vacuuming (sure thats not what it was!) but removing any bits of tooth and saliva, without 'burning' my tongue as many do. Both the dentist and the assistant stayed until nearly 7pm while they did the job properly - not rushed. My pain went away after this and I now have a completed tooth without pain following another appointment. Then a week later a filling in a tooth on the other side fell out (that had been in for years) and the practice slotted me in and im sorted (again). I can only thank the receptionists for listening, caring and getting me in at the earliest; the dental assistants for staying late, preparing everything the dentist needed and a big thank you to the dentist (no names allowed on here I understand) for doing the work you do, the care you showed and for putting the hours in to fit me in at the earliest. This was my first treatment with this particular dentist, however my teenage daughter had to have a submerging baby tooth removed some years ago. He was excellent with her and took good time reassuring her and removed quite an awkwardly positioned tooth. This review is my experience (and my daughters), my Wife and Son have also had recent checkups with the same dentist and I hope we can retain him and the rest of the team over future years. Thank you so much.

Just had a root canal filling. They made it a painless, easy procedure. No dramas, just great communication from both dentist and assistant. Such a relief to have these people as my local dentist.

Review titled Very good practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Meirion Jones - Posted on 28 November 2024
Treatment was prompt, efficient, effective , relevant and informative. I now have a better idea of the situation regarding my teeth and the possible future treatment that may need to take place and the cost. I am happy with the service I have received and would recommend this practice to friends and family.

Review titled Five star review
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I really cannot recommend the practice and the care I received enough. My dentist was extremely thorough and talked me through every step of the procedure. And with late evening and Saturday appointments being self employed I don't have to lose working hours. A really really great practice. Thank you

Review titled Appalling
Rated 1 star out of 5

I show up on the correct time and date of my appointment and they tell me I haven't actually got an appointment . I even showed them the slip of paper with the details on (that they wrote out for me during the last checkup). 2 hour round trip plus travel costs wasted & not even an apology. My last checkup in 2023 I didn’t get a scale & polish (despite it showing on the bill) and it was over an hour late. Been coming here for treatment 25 years, it’s become an absolute shambles since the new management took over. Anyone looking to sign on with a dentist look elsewhere, you best avoid this utter disgrace of a surgery.

Review titled Simple and effective
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Joji - Posted on 16 August 2024
I had a wonderful experience. It was my first appointment in UK. I got the appointment immediately and the reception staff was so nice and explained about the charges and how to fill the online form. I was bit tensed but the dentist and dental nurse where so kind and polite. I had a filling on my lower teeth and it really reduced my pain and food impaction. I am very satisfied with this dental pratice

Review titled Query nhs dental Registration?
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 July 2024
Pre first registration appt, I was sent an online form ( phone) to fill in , with incorrect name & address. I contacted the surgery to update this and contact details. At the surgery I asked about this online form, to which the receptionist claimed they don't do this. So as it contains confidential information, I was concerned. I had waited nearly 5/6 years for the nhs dental registration, as I was having many problems with my gums, teeth etc. The woman , a hygienist who turned out not to be dentist, There was another woman who claimed they were therapist. The first woman did a quick probe at my teeth, then took some (2)xrays. She was insisting on a Polish which I decline, as attention to my teeth was my priority. I was charged around £ 26.00 approx and I had still not seen by a dentist. The reception area was busy very chaotic , & disorganised. The receptionist then handed me a piece of paper , with receipt details of how to claim if on low benefits . She said she would talk to a dentist and call me back. I felt I had come to the wrong place. With 39 years NI, at work , now retired I felt very humiliated. If they were only doing NHS registration for benefit claimants , they should have made that clear in the first instance Finally what is the point of having your gums cleaned when your teeth are decaying and need attention in the first instance. I will call the dental clinic tomorrow to see if I do have a dentist.
