    I had and appointment at 9.00 when surgery opens. Woke at 5 am with diarrhoea and vomiting. Rang and left a message at 8.00 then phoned at 8.55 to explain I could not attend. Told by receptionist that this counts as a short notice cancellation and if I cancel again my account will be blocked. Not sure how I could give 24hours notice when I became unwell just a few hours before appointment when surgery was closed. I was told there is no way to override this. So it seems that the surgery would prefer you to attend even if you are unwell and could infect staff and other patients . Do they want patients to attend even with Covid? Perhaps I should have attended with the risk of vomiting on the dentist? This sadly does not work the other way when they surgery cancel your appointment at short notice.

    Try to get an appointment went on his Wed site and it came up with their site saying they where taking on new patients for his so I rang them just for them to say that they where not taking new patients on and to go on the nhs wed side to find on that was and their was not on near me what a disgrace

    Thank you for your comments. We are disappointed to hear of your dissatisfaction. Due to the high number of people wishing to receive NHS dental treatment the waiting list is very long. We do try and notify patients as soon as appointment's become available at the practice and will always try to accommodate where we can. If you wish to discuss this matter further.
